When you you get a double negative LFT?

Tested positive Saturday 29th Jan so today is day 5, still positive. Not overly strong line but not a faint one either.

DS had it, his lines were very red and he had to stay in for the whole 10 days. However all the other kids in his class who had Covid around the same time, around 8 of them, all had 2 negative LFTs between days 5-7.

Having serious cabin fever after been stuck inside with DS and now me!

Rambleon are you now leaving isolation immediately or is it after midnight tonight ?_ DD had her first negative yesterday (Day 7) and hoping for another today but confused as to whether I 'let her out immediately' or is it only from tomorrow?

I thought it was straight after your 2nd negative. My son went back to school the day he had a 2nd negative. He had zero symptoms and I don't have any abs haven't got 3 days. So I think it's fine.

Thanks! We'll do the 2nd test then this morning - if I can get her out of 'her pit'! She's 10 and I honestly think she's enjoyed this enforced downtime and staying in her room listening to audio books and drawing etc! But I want her out for cuddles and normal life to resume

Day 6 and still a pretty dark line here, plus DD has now got a faint line - oh joy! So that’s all 4 of us now, by the time DD completes isolation (assuming she goes the whole 10 days) we’ll have had covid in the house for 26 days!

That sucks CaveMum! My DD did her 2nd LFT this morning and back to positive - she is gutted 😢 so still another weekend of isolation...

Had my second negative today, Day 6 since positive test but probably about Day 8 since my symptoms began. I didn’t start testing positive until Sunday morning.

I started testing negative, after very red positives, on days 7 and 8 - 1.5 days after having an antiviral infusion. I was very much still positive just after having the antiviral.

I'm not sure I'd have testing negative before day 10 without the antivirals though - was no hint of fading.

Oh, and despite testing negative I was still feeling unwell. Day 15 today and I'm still not properly well. Just better than I was.

Oh that's not fun @CaveMum!! 26 days of Covid in the house. Hope your dd clears it quickly

@Abraxan sorry you're still not feeling well. Are you CEV? My mother lives with us, she is CEV. We have had Covid in the house twice, firstly due to me been an HCP, this time from my DS school. thank god we have managed to avoid giving it to her! I am so grateful she has never had it.

Yay!! I have enjoyed my day out. A very long walk with my DD. Was lovely.

Day 8 - still positive 😤😤😤 Oh well, at least I know my release date for definite now.

Just have to see what happens with DD - we were supposed to be travelling to visit family this weekend, we had to cancel seeing them over Christmas as they had been exposed to Covid (typically they never tested positive in the end!) If DD is positive on Day 5 (Thurs) then we can’t go as the earliest she’d be clear is Saturday and we’re supposed to travel down on Friday and return on Sunday.
