Day 5 positive, still really badly positive, any hope of weekend release?

My DD is 6, she got her positive on 24th January but we haven’t actually left the house since 22nd (no need to I have everything I needed in).

I got my positive on Saturday 29th but had felt rotten for a few days, so 119 told me Saturday was Day 1 so today is Day 5.

DD got her first negative today – Day 9.

Whats the chances of us getting some time outside this weekend?

DD has a viral chest infection – the GP diagnosed this over video call (how they can tell I have no idea) so we haven’t even left the house in 11 days and could be here another 5. She’s recovering slowly and the GP said fresh air in the garden would do her good, when I said I have no garden he said he hopes isolation ends for us soon then.

We have no outside space at all but we’ve been quite relieved when it’s been windy and wet. Today it’s gloomy but dry, our favourite kind of day!

I cannot get DD to school if shes negative tomorrow anyway, no class whats app, no class facebook, there’s a school twitter but it’s not replied to they just post the occasional picture.

I do know some of the other parents but most of DDs class came down with it, so a lot of her class are off and DD has some SN so wouldn’t go with just anyone.

So hopes of getting out by Saturday so DD can have some fresh air before being thrown into school again?

Personal experience says no chance. 3 out of 4 of us were positive until day 10 (possibly even longer but I didn't want to know after that).

Good luck.

Sorry but being realistic, one of my workmates was still positive on day 10 only tested negative as they came back on day 11 as isolation ended.
This is what I'm hearing from others as well. I know it's not what you want to hear.

Day 12 to get a negative here

BillyAndTheSillies · 02/02/2022 10:30

My positive on day 5 was darker than my day 0. My day 6 test (yesterday) was negative as was today's (day 7). There is hope, I thought the same as you. DS was negative on day 5.

MoonriseKingdom · 02/02/2022 10:34

I’m on day 5 and Dh day 8. Faint positive for us both today but from my recent thread on here sounds like day 5 negative is unusual. On day 5 DHs test line was positive before the liquid even hit the control line.

SpringRainbow · 02/02/2022 10:37

Most people I know are getting their two negative’s around day 7/8.

I do know a couple who have had negatives on day 5/6.

AlexandraEiffel · 02/02/2022 10:42

There's lots of threads in this and it's so variable. I was day 6 and 7 neg, my youngest days 5 and 6, my eldest still pos at 8.

Gizlotsmum · 02/02/2022 10:45

We all tested negative twice by day 8 ( husband was strong positive day 5 and last to get the negative)

IsolationGetMeOutOfHere · 02/02/2022 10:49

Thank you every just have to hope, it's not me I'm bothered so much by its DD she needs her life back now, she's missed it for 2 weeks, and when your 6 it seems impossible that it'll ever come back.

Family of five omicron: 1 neg day 9, 3 never got negative, 1 negative day 5(only one that had delta at beginning of December).
Good luck.

My DD (6) was really dark positive on day 4 and 5, negative day 6 and 7. One of her friends was faint positive from day 5 until day 10.

My brother was still testing really dark on day 5 and 6, day 7 he was negative. It's fairly unpredictable- I hope you get your negatives!

delilahbucket · 02/02/2022 11:20

DS was negative day 8 and 9 and he had cold like symptoms but nothing heavy, no temperature and he didn't feel poorly.

@delilahbucket I've had what feels like a heavy cold, bit of a blocked nose still now but I'd be more than well enough to work but can't!

@IsolationGetMeOutOfHere he was the same by day four but still positive. Awful keeping a child in the house. We just threw our windows open a lot for fresh air in the house. It's good for your lungs.

IsolationGetMeOutOfHere · 02/02/2022 20:09

Just retested just to see if there's any change and it's negative not even a faint line on the test.

Does that mean if I'm negative tomorrow isolation ends?
