Omicron - weird order of symptoms - anyone else?

Ok, so 2 weeks ago DD tested positive for Covid, presume Omicron as it all is now and whole class is down. She is 6yrs so it was obviously close contact for me in the lead up, I was careful from when she tested positive but obviously didn't isolate her! She was ill for 6 days, positive for 8 days. Fine now. I Wore mask a bit and opened windows where I could but it was cold. DH tested positive a few days later, mildly ill, negative after day 5 which would have been last Friday so 4 days ago. We kept apart but not before he was positive as I already felt ill.

2 days after DD got ill I started with the following in this order:

Sore back (like super sore, from nowhere)
Stomach pain / diarrhoea
Muscle pain
Headache
Nausea (pretty bad for a few days on and off)
Earache
General feeling crap for about 3-4 days
Tiredness
Slight vertigo /dizzy feeling

It was all pretty mild. I have had Covid before (pre vaccines in 2020) and it was nothing like that but also felt VERY similar just really mild plus nausea. I wasn't bed bound but wasn't up to doing much. I tested daily and was negative every time, didn't do a PCR because i can't drive and DH had to isolate. Anyway we were isolating anyway and daily LFT negative. I have felt 'better' since Saturday just gone. Have assumed I had it but mild OR that vaccines / previous infection have kept it at bay?!

BUT NOW:

Runny nose
Congested
Sore throat all day.

Feel fine otherwise. Anyone else had this with Omicron? Am i just having some weird response. This is 14 days since I started with the sore back and DD tested positive. Have done another LFT today as thought i should and still negative but I am so confused. I haven't been anywhere or seen anyone at all other than school drop off since DD went back but that's outdoors and masked.

All the symptoms you listed fit Omicron. It's dragging on a bit tbh but a friend of mine felt shit for three weeks (fully vaccinated but before boosters were available where we are) so it is possible.

Yes i think it must still be 'it' just so annoying that it is lingering on. I thought I was over it. Saying that DH is still saying he's really tired, maybe i just need to take it a bit more easy...

I’ve had the same sort of timeline tbh.

Only started coughing, swollen sore throat and sneezing etc and also lost smell and taste at the end after about 9/10 days.

Now on about day 15 after postive PCR and the LFT is negative but I feel bad being in contact with people, as I still sound ill with ny snuffly nose and cough.

Still being sensitive to people by keeping a distance and sanitising hands etc but getting a bit fed up with this now! Haven’t really had a high temp at all, which I believe is the only symptom that might keep me isolating after this long

This is really odd. My DD tested positive yesterday. Over the past week, nearly, I’ve have really bad stomach pains (kept me up in night), nausea that just comes and goes for no apparent reason, and occasional headache. So yesterday I wondered if it was anything to do with Covid. I’ve done several LFTs but all negative.

Atissue123 · 03/02/2022 10:08

@RoyKentsChestHair what day did you get the positive PCR? I am worse now, full on cold symptoms, bit tired but nothing terrible. Can't decide if I have a cold (and had Covid last week as well) or if this is all part of it. Also wary of doing another PCR in case it comes back positive and I have to isolate for another 10 days. LFT all negative and I am really super snotty so can't see how it wouldn't show up now if it was Covid. Interestingly no cough at all (yet).

@Chimpd0g that sounds similar to what I had although I also had a few more things going on (sore back, night sweats etc) which made me think it was Omicron. Also had a positive DD in the house. I hope you feel better soon and don't start up with cold symptoms too!

DD had those symptoms aside from ear ache - she’s 6. She kept saying she felt dizzy and her head was fuzzy and wanted to lie down. Extremely snotty and despite testing negative is still snotty.

RoyKentsChestHair · 03/02/2022 10:43

Positive PCR was after 3 days of negative LFTs and symptoms. When you book the PCR you put in the date your symptoms started and it will count from that rather than the date of the test I think.

There’s a reason we were all previously told to get a PCR if there were symptoms, as the LFTs clearly aren’t good enough at picking it up in all cases (whether that’s user error or just bad test kits I don’t know!)

Stopping PCRs and relying solely on LFTs is probably just part of the original herd immunity through exposure plan.

Still testing negative on day 5 after daughter’s positive test, including 1 PCR (asked by Zoe app to do one), so can’t be anything to do with Covid 🤷‍♀️

Inthesameboatatmo · 04/02/2022 08:22

I'm on day 9 currently. Still have bad tummy occasionally and head aches a nausea on and off. No taste or smell other than a weird chemical type thing.

Sammilouwho · 04/02/2022 08:39

I'm day 8, DD(3) is day 10.
Her symptoms started weird with 2 days of itching which we thought was worms and then cold symptoms, negative PCR and LFTs all week for both of us. She's just had 2 days of low grade fever and now nothing but snot.
Mine started with diarreah and a sore throat 2 days after my DD started itching, so far all I've got is a sniffle and a sore head (but we have a newborn so I'm not sleeping anyway).
She got her positive on day 6 and mine on day 4.

Policyschmolicy · 04/02/2022 09:18

I had pretty much exactly the same symptoms but on a much more condensed timeline. I was pretty much done within the week-10 days. I didn’t test positive on LFT until the sneezing started, but remained positive for some time after.

Atissue123 · 04/02/2022 10:28

I am so confused by it. I actually feel worse today so am off for a PCR and DD2 now ill as well so have to do that anyway for school purposes but all LFT still negative. I am really perplexed. I think I may have just picked up a really bad cold straight after Covid but think best to do another test to be sure. DH (who had Covid last week confirmed) now also has this cold so It surely can't be Covid again?!

I've got omicron (day 5) and am unvaccinated (aged 38). Seems incredibly mild. My vaccinated friends have all had it worse than me in the last 4 weeks. I'm wondering if worse is to come
