LFT line appeared and then disappeared

Never seen this before! I have to test for work. They (my employer) recommended a PCR but I’m curious, has anyone had this and what was the outcome?

Once you’ve tested positive on LFT you log it online and you are given a code, that should be enough for your employer, no point doing a PCR test because even if it comes back negative you still have to isolate due to positive LFT.

Was it an LFT that comes in the green box? If so, I’ve had the same, I think it’s just how the solution rises up the test makes it look that way.

It didn’t stay positive though. It went positive and the line faded quickly. My second LFT was negative. I need the PCR anyway because I’d be eligible for anti-virals.

Interesting! Nope not a green box. It was a blue box but not the flow flex, the older ones that swab your throat and nose.

Yeah if it's one of the ones in the green boxes then the liquid keeps moving up the test strip and looks like a second line until its finishes spreading along it.

I had a negative flow flex (nose only) but a ??? positive throat and nose swab. The thing was that the line faded very quickly so the ??? positive is very questionable.

I’ll do the PCR as I’d be eligible for anti-viral treatment if I do actually have Covid, although I think this is very unlikely.

Oh I've never had that happen with the older style boxes, no idea then I'm afraid.

I work in a care home and I tested positive on a LFT , work told me to do a PCR test and that came back negative.
Due to the negative test I didn't have to isolate. PCR result override the LFT result.
I rang 119 to confirm this because I also thought it was the same thing you are saying but they said no. A PCR result will override a LFT result.

I no longer had to isolate even though I registered the LFT result. I have been negative ever since. I'm not sure why a positive came up though!

I also work in social care. I would expect to be told to continue as normal if I’m PCR negative, which I expect to be. I just wanted to be sensible.

DH had a line that quickly vanished, the next day the line stayed positive. PCR that day also was positive.

Yes it’s happened to me. PCR was positive.

Ahhhh no, hope it’s not Covid.
Just done a PCR so we’ll find out soon! Eeek.
