How many times can one person sneeze?!

Covid day 6. It’s 4am and I’ve just woken up to sneeze. This is the sneeziest I’ve ever been. I cannot believe how sneezy and snotty (sorry) this thing is! It’s like a team of tiny hamsters are living up my nose.
Other symptoms are intermittent back pain and crying at random non sad things.
Something tells me I’m still going to be positive if I test today.

I need to sneeze again.

@Wowwellokthen A friend of mine had a positive PCR and never had a positive LFT so she did ten days. I hope you feel better soon.
I felt very cold so I suspect I have a temperature again. Also sneezing.
But definitely better than I was at the start. I hope you feel better soon. Make sure you rest.

If you have dust and pollen allergies - it really never ends.
24/7 and 365 days a year. Always, always, always.
No end to it, ever.
It's getting worse as I age too.

I get sneezing fits at many points during the day. Anything will set it off.
Will sneeze at least six times over and over and over, really feverishly and will barely have time to draw breath.
Sometimes the sneezing combines with burps and hiccups, which produces whooping because having all 3 at once takes all the air out of me.

I always have a drip of runny snot up inside the corner of my nose, which never really goes away. Again due to allergies.
I always need to keep tissues with me.

I hate allergies.

The sneezing, lower back ache and being super emotional and crying at everything. I had exactly the same with Covid over christmas… thought i was going mad with the crying at random things! Had the itchy eyes too.

How are we all today? Yesterday I did nothing at all. I ate a HUGE amount from mcds for lunch and then laid on the sofa all day (very unlike me).

I have found if I do nothing I feel a bit better. If I get up and do anything I feel very ill again.

On day 3/4 now I think. Fell asleep on sofa about 10, don’t even remember falling asleep, dp sorted kids and dog, I didn’t stir, was totally zonked. Dp woke me at 2.30 to go to bed, slept till 9.15, probably still be sleeping if his snoring hadn’t woke me. Snotty, backache, shattered and feeling ‘ill’ so far.

Hope you are all okay x

Day 4 here...awful nights sleep...woke about 100 times to deal with snot, or coughing.
My stomach muscles and back are so sore from coughing and the snot just keeps on coming.
Earache, eyes feel hot and still sneezing.
Lateral flow...still negative - I give up with them.

@Wowwellokthen oh no! Hopefully today will ease off for you. Try a hot bath or shower maybe to steam it out?...

Just had doctor at hospital ring. They offering me the antiviral as I am CEV and immunosuppressed. I don’t know what to do really. I don’t feel like I am going down hill, every day I am about the same. It’s a long way to travel and I don’t want to put even more drugs into my body if I don’t need too...

She was happy with my oxygen levels as it’s 99. I do feel a bit short of breath but more like a tight chest from time to time.

She said she has worked on the Covid ward through the pandemic. She said it is very important to sleep as much as you possibly can. Drink lots and lots of fluids, eat whatever you fancy as this is what your body wants, she said this is no time for anyone to diet (just as well after yesterday 😂). She said if you get to day 7 without getting really ill you have made it through.

Would you have it? She ringing back at 12 and I need to make a decision

Hmmm I obviously don't know your personal situation but I think I would take the antiviral because surely it is better than possibly getting long covid or more extreme symptoms in the short term. What are the side affects or downsides of them?

The doctors wouldn't offer them if they didn't think they would benefit you, so I think you should take them Thanks

Workinghardeveryday · 30/01/2022 13:42

@Wowwellokthen @SmellyOldOwls

Thank you both. I spoke to her again, we discussed my symptoms again, she said she is happy for me to wait until tomorrow to see how I feel.

I asked about side effects, she said none so far but stressed it’s a new drug and they don’t have that information yet and that it’s still on trail.

Still undecided, think I will see how today goes.

I ask her about my mood as well, one minute I am fine, next crying but the worst is getting extremely annoyed with dp over nothing then fine again 5 minutes later! She said it is a thing and they see it a lot - Covid rage 😂😬

Coffeeonmytoffee · 30/01/2022 16:53

@Workinghardeveryday it's a tricky decision. Great they are giving up the time to decide.
I'm on day 7. LFT is still very positive.
I've been lazy today and tried not to cry (and failed). I was hoping to be back at work on Tuesday but that's now impossible.

My MIL once told me I needed to go to A&E because I sneezed 4 times in a row as it ‘wasn’t normal’.
Obviously I didn’t (there were more stupid reasons to go to A&E beyond that).

Coffeeonmytoffee · 01/02/2022 05:55

@Larryyourwaiter I can just imagine their faces if you did.
How does everyone feel? I'm still positive and isolation ends tomorrow.

How are you feeling today op?

I am not sure yet, just woke up with alarm, didn’t get to sleep until gone 2 🙄

Coffeeonmytoffee · 01/02/2022 13:40

@Workinghardeveryday I'm thanks. Very croaky and a but washed out. Trying to imagine being at work at 7am on Thursday.
How are you?

I was really bad with sneezing too. I had it a couple of weeks ago. Also had it in November and wasn't as sneezy. Just really blocked up.
