Do we have to let test and trace know?

My ds’s class have had an outbreak and he’s tested positive.

I’ve submitted his test online, but I’m being invited my T&T to give them info. I don’t think anyone in his class have alerted them as I would’ve been contacted countless times.

Do we have to let them know?

You just tell them the name of the school, they don't actually do any tracing.

chubley · 26/01/2022 18:13

I didn't put any named contacts on, just the name of the school, and I informed the school in case T&T don't do that. I don't have DS2's friends' phone numbers. He is 15 and told his school friends himself, as his friends did in the past when they tested positive.

I just put the school name down and gave the mums in the WhatsApp group the heads up out of courtesy, as others have done previously.

I don't know, I have been named as a CC about 7/8 times this year alone and never been contacted

Both my sons have recently tested positive. ( one preschooler and one secondary school) T and T have called both times and asked for school names, and any other contacts.
I found it easier to go over it on the phone with T and T call handler than online.
Hope your little one is feeling better soon

Just give the name of school.

I'm school staff and just did that.

Schools send their own letters out about contacts and cases and what actions to take.

It's helpful for anyone actually paying attention or caring to see what's happening in schools and transmission etc.

Ds just gave name of his work no individual names and obviously work now anyway

Wellbythebloodyhell · 26/01/2022 20:02

I didn't even bother to register the positive lateral or go for a PCR, school were happy to accept a photo of the positive proof and advised me of when I need to test him again before he can return. School sent a message to the class to say there had been a another confirmed positive in the class and to continue with Daily testing we'd been asked to do at the start of the week hence me testing ds yesterday. We're isolating, what's the point of us having T&T hassling us every day

itsgettingweird · 26/01/2022 20:36

I've had nothing from T and T other than some messages. I did the online form.

The messages also remind me and provide links to support should I need it. Also thank me for isolating.

T&T have really scaled back on the contact, in Oct when a few of my family members were positive we were contacted several times, last couple of weeks, DH & DC tested positive and nothing. I later tested positive also. All our contact was via an online link but no one was contacted on the back of it.

Aren't they doing away with test and trace?!

worriedatthemoment · 26/01/2022 22:28

@Wellbythebloodyhell they don't hassle you everyday and its so you advise any other contacts 48 hrs before symptoms/ positive or places you have been

I've been on the receiving end of the hassle in the past thank you very much , daily calls and texts.
DS caught it at school, his school are aware of it, anyone outside school he's been in contact with before testing positive I've informed myself.
