Anyone had covid mouth?

I’ve got covid at the moment. Not actually feeling too bad, it’s just like a bad cold. But the roof of my mouth and top of my throat are covered in painful ulcer like things. I’ve googled and seen ‘covid mouth’ mentioned a few times so I’m guessing it’s probably this. It’s not worth bothering a doctor with, but it is making it hard to eat all then chocolate in the house while binge watching crap on tv!
So I’m just wondering if anyone else got it, and how long it lasted for them and if anything helped make it less painful? Thanks!

@Allaboutthebooks ooh thank you, I have noticed that warm tea helps so I’ll try this!

Yes. Me. Lasted about 10 days.

BookNerdy · 26/01/2022 19:30

Thanks @whatisheupto, I’m hating it and eating is painful so the sooner it goes the better! I was worried it would be something that lasted for months like when people lose their taste/smell

Yes! I'm just testing negative now. I looked and felt like I had thrush and had some white sores.

The inside of my cheeks were like hamsters!

BookNerdy · 26/01/2022 20:49

@itsgettingweird that’s exactly what I’ve got now and I’m testing negative too. How long did yours last?

Stopped on Tuesday!

Started sore throat Friday. Cold on Saturday. Tested positive Sunday.

beechie12 · 26/01/2022 21:09

I have covid and had covid tongue Monday. It lasted two days. Looked like geographical tongue. Haven't looked since as not sore anymore.

BookNerdy · 26/01/2022 21:33

Thanks, this sounds like good news to me!

Are the mouth ulcers on the roof of your mouth on both sides or just one?
Asking only because I had shingles in my mouth once and I had blisters on the roof of my mouth but just one side. I felt pretty terrible with it too.
If it's all over then ignore me, it's probably a covid thing.

BookNerdy · 26/01/2022 22:51

@MissVictoriaPlum both sides and down my throat? I don’t think I could handle shingles as well 🤦🏼‍♀️

My son had a huge ulcer next to the dangly thing in your mouth. It was the size of a penny and really red round it. That was his only symptom.

Pineapple is really good for mouth ulcers. My father had burn type ulcers inside his mouth after chemo and they recommended pineapple.

CarConfession · 03/03/2022 09:38

@MiddleAgedLurker I’ve changed my name and can’t work out how to change it back 🤦🏼‍♀️ I did a week of feeling sorry for the myself and off work with headaches and a sore mouth. It took 2-3 weeks for the headaches and face ache to stop. I still get toothache now though and it was a while ago :(

I did! My lips went all flakey and peeled too. Was very sore.

It only lasted for about 3 days though and subsided as the other symptoms did.
