How is your taste/smell months after covid?

Had it in July. Completely lost both senses. For about 2 months.

But now that they are back they're ... Not right ... A lot of things smell the same. Like lentil soup and curry both smell the same to me. And I still can't smell a lot of things.

My taste is weird too. Like chocolate tastes floral. And a lot of things have a chemical taste.

Is this usual?

Had it in August. Lost both entirely but they came back after a few weeks.
Since then I get fake smoke smells and my taste buds seem less sensitive. I can taste but I feel it's all a bit duller.

I get fake cigarette smoke smells as well, it's so weird.... Also things don't smell as they used to, a bit duller and weaker, not as sharp. It's been 3 months for me.

@Fredbair that’s so weird. I had Covid 2 weeks ago and taste and smell returning but last night I was wandering round the house as I could smell smoke and was concerned something was burning.

The smoke thing got much worse in December after I had a mild cold (def not covid). It's improving now, back to the odd waft.
Thankfully it's wood smoke not cigarettes so not too unpleasant but I'd never know if the house was on fire as I no longer go sniffing round trying to find the source.

I had it in august and sweet scents/perfume/shower gels smell like pee basically. Some food and drink still have a weird taste also. I had lost smell and taste for 2 weeks and it hasn't been the same since

Had covid in March 2020 (old school!) and both DH and I lost taste and smell for a month or two. It took a long time for my sense of smell to sort itself out (and as PP said, when I have a normal cold it goes funny again), but even now I occasionally smell phantom burning. DH is the same. Very odd.
