How many of you are testing with lateral flows still?

Just wondered how many people are still doing weekly or twice weekly testing with lateral flows if your asymptomatic. Not including people who have to for work.
We are due to go abroad in a few months and if everyone feels well and is ok I don't know if I will be doing lateral flows in the weeks beforehand?
How does everyone else feel about this sort of situation if your due to go abroad or away on holiday will you be testing up until you go if you all feel well and risk a potential positive that you would otherwise be non the wiser to?

Just the two of us and we both work from home so we only take LFT if we're going to visit vulnerable relatives.

tootyfruitypickle · 24/01/2022 22:47

Just when seeing elderly family. Not bothering with school testing unless dd feels a bit ropey.

StooriMidori · 24/01/2022 23:04

We are doing LFTs once or twice a week depending on where we're going. I'm also taking part in a research study on regular PCR testing.

@LittleMissMoggy

I really don't understand why people wouldn't do them if going out and about. We picked up covid in our household via lft on the first day of very mild symptoms. Helped ensure that we didn't pass onto someone vulnerable, or at the very least just didn't pass onto someone and ruin their plans. Also meant the one with covid isolated and the rest of the house never got it as we took precautions. I just really don't get people...
Yep exactly this
BluebellsGreenbells · 24/01/2022 23:41

Well as long as you’re happy nobody else is doing LFT before sitting on a packed plane.

Tdcp · 24/01/2022 23:42

I test once a week or so but I work in a very small public facing business and if more than one person was off sick with covid it'd be potentially disastrous. I also have a DD in primary school. I'm not anxious about covid testing or anything though, just doing what's best for the people around me right now.

Chloemol · 24/01/2022 23:47

Yes

Pepperama · 25/01/2022 00:38

Yes two or three a week. And I definitely would before going away as wouldn’t want to give it to a plane/train full of people where someone might be vulnerable. Or get really unwell abroad. May be different if it’s a car journey to a UK cottage

MrsClatterbuck · 25/01/2022 01:35

Yes as I visit an elderly relative in a home so have to do a weekly PCR and do a lft when visiting. Also they have a hospital appointment next month which I am praying they don't have to cancel like last time due to covid in the home so a 6 month wait for this rescheduled one. I won't necessarily isolate until then but will be extra careful as I possibly can. May do some extra lft tests.

beentoldcomputersaysno · 25/01/2022 02:05

Yep. Still testing.

Stinkywizzleteets · 25/01/2022 02:14

I thought a lot of countries still required a negative test to travel to them it’s only coming to lurgy island that doesn’t really seem to bother anymore.

My partner tested positive on an Lft 2 days before his symptoms appeared. I tested negative despite being symptomatic for
Four days. Pcr was positive tho.

Nomoresavings · 25/01/2022 04:15

2x a week plus more if I see anyone

ElftonWednesday · 25/01/2022 05:12

I haven't done any since before Christmas, but haven't been into the office. I'd do a test before I go back and before any holidays.

TeeBee · 25/01/2022 05:21

Yep, we all do in my house. I do because one of my social activities includes older and more vulnerable people. Kids have to for college and my youngest (16) has a group of friends who all test before they get together for a party (even sometimes make them send photos to make sure they've done it). We also have a family member going through chemo so we're careful around that.
