Hello
I got two tests like this one this morning but since then every test has been negative. Is this normal? I have been in contact with a lot of positive cases including my husband. I am isolating but feel really bad incase i don’t have it after all!!

I'd say positive for that, keep testing if you like- some people get negatives then positive again around day 4/5.

Happyharry2003 · 24/01/2022 13:21

All very strange! No wonder so many
People go round positive without realising when it’s so hit or Miss at times. Thank you!

If you got positive this morning why have you continued to test??

dementedpixie · 24/01/2022 13:22

How many tests have you done and why are you doing so many in one day? Lft can give false negatives so will not always show a positive result even if you have covid.

Happyharry2003 · 24/01/2022 13:25

Out of interest!

How many tests are you taking a day op? Especially if you're asymptomatic?
Are you booked off work with covid as you don't need to legally isolate now if you're just a contact or wfh?
Just do one a day at the same time each day.

That's a positive test. No need to keep testing again so much, just isolate. Hope you feel ok.

Happyharry2003 · 24/01/2022 13:30

I do have symptoms. I’m now off work isolating as I don’t work from home. The two tests this morning were faint red lines (on pic) which was why I am now isolating. It was just out of interest really that I wonder why the first two were and the other one I took later today was negative. It interests me as we test daily at work and I wonder how many positives get missed like this.

Thanks. Not too bad - sore throat, headache and funny taste in mouth. Worse bit is the guilt of not being at work! But that’s just me being silly!

How long after adding the fluid did you take that photo? The top of the test strip looks dry, making me think maybe it was either read immediately, or you didn't add sufficient fluid?

Happyharry2003 · 24/01/2022 13:43

I think it’s just the camera flash

Maybe you’ve removed all the traces of infection from the area by testing too much, similar to how you’re meant to test for pregnancy first thing in the morning because it’s allowed time for the hormone to build up in your urine.

As far as you can reliably tell you have detected covid. That’s as much as you need to know really. Stop testing so much.

I had a positive PCR on Friday and have every Covid symptom.

I have never had a positive LFT.

Katya213 · 24/01/2022 14:39

Never had a positive left, just had a positive pcr!

Katya213 · 24/01/2022 14:39

Lft

bumhug · 24/01/2022 21:38

Was that just up your nose? If it was, try a throat swab (you can do that with any of the tests). My up the nose one was negative and the throat one the same day was a solid line before the whole strip was wet!
