Got Covid.. what can I do about prescription?

Three hours away from home in hotel. DO can't get me because he's got the thing too so stuck here. Luckily hotel not busy and they've offered me bargain rate for week.

On Wednesday will run out of medication which I have to take daily ( epilepsy). No idea what to do. Was due home.today

To top it all everything tastes of PEPPER!! Just tried strong ginger beer.. PEPPER.. mint chocolate.. PEPPER.

What onnearth do I do about prescription?

I would call the covid helpline. They must have something in place to get you medication and any other essentials.

You’ve got time for someone to post next day? Hermes etc will collect from your home if DP is stuck indoors.

Alternatively get prescription sent to local chemist and ask hotel or local taxi to collect??

Could your gp send a copy of your prescription to a local pharmacy that will deliver?

How did you get to where you are?

Do you have a paper script? If so I’d ask the hotel concierge to go and get it for you (they’d need your postcode) OR phone a local pharmacy and explain. I’m sure one way or another it can get to you.

Tbh as a last resort I’d just go out and get it. It’s endemic now and so many walking round with it not even knowing.

111 can do you an emergency prescription referral to a nearby pharmacy. You are allowed out to collect for medical reasons.

You are allowed to go and get your prescription. Have a close read of the isolation rules.

I didn’t realise until I had covid recently that you can actually go out for food and medicine….

Thanks everyone. I hadn't realised I could ask for it to be sent to another pharmacy and delivered. There is a Boots nearby.

Normally my prescription goes to a local chemist and is automatically reordered for me to pick up.

Feeling miserable and not thinking straight

If the prescription has already been sent to your normal pharmacy, call them and ask them to release it back to the spine. The prescription will have a reference number attached to it. Ask the pharmacy for that code. Then call the new pharmacy and give them that code, they can then allocate the prescription to themselves.

Whether they'll be able to deliver it or not depends on how busy they are. Our Boots stores are not delivering at all at the moment. If they can't, ask the hotel staff if they might help, or ask for a local taxi number and arrange it with them.

I phoned local Boots and they said they'd arrange delivery if the prescription was sent through by GP..Spoke to GP and they'll send it tomorrow

Hotel being very kind. They just brought me a plate of cheese and biscuits on the house amd said they'll bring clean sheets and towels in morning but I will need to change own bed as they can't come in which seems fair enough

I'm rather bored though especially of the taste of pepper.. why pepper?

Horray have medication, clean sheets, pizza delivery and temporary access to hotel owners disney plus. They put details on slip of paper under door. Theyre being so lovely.. glad I'm in a small independent not sure I'd get the same from Premier Inn!!
Think I'm going to watch Encanto, eat pizza then have a long hot bath.. not much else to do!!

Best of all things seem to have stopped taking of pepper which is a big relief.

Missing dp and children so much.

You can actually go out and collect prescriptions it's completely allowed.

As a VERY last resort, but not necessary when you can get them delivered or a hotel staff member can collect them!

GP if you can get through! Ask them to send a prescription to a chemist near the hotel or delivery if there's time.

I'm so glad you have food and medication! Still no fun at all but hopefully you fill be feeling better soon - having a sense of taste back sounds like a massive improvement.

Sorry @dementedpixie meant to say before that I took the train. I felt a bit rubbish Sunday night, took test Monday morning and so here I am. I dont think me and my virus would be welcome on a train!
