Children and sore eyes

Is sore eyes a symptoms which should be seen by a doc if they develop in a child? DD is a few days in and has generally been fine, but today has sore/stingy eyes, especially when looking at the light. Basically fine otherwise, and it's much better after Calpol. But do I need to get eye drops or anything, or get her seen? And if anyone else DC has had this, how long has this lasted? TIA

DD had this on her first bout - it was her first symptom. Last night, four days into her second bout she started complaining about it again. Not much soothed it, really, but it did seem to fade fairly quickly.

Thanks @changingstages and @pinkcattydude. Good to hear it didn't last long. DD's seemed to clear up with Calpol, but will ask pharmacist for drops if it keeps happening. Thanks again, and hope your DC are on the mend/better.

DD11 started covid with sniffles and sore eyes like conjunctivitis but without the weeping. Lasted a couple of days.

I'm on day 8 and my eyes have been hurting/burning/stinging since day 0. It feels like little shards of glass are in there. It is just like blepharitis, except no crusty bits Confused. I'm obviously not a child, but I just wanted you to know it seems to be a thing. I'm using warm compresses from cotton wool pads to soothe. Drops don't do anything for me. If anyone has any miracle cures, please share!
