I am a contact of someone who tested positive on Wednesday night. I've been doing LFTs daily all negative so far.

How long did it take you to develop symptoms/test positive after exposure to the virus?

When did you have contact?

@dementedpixie Oops, yes that would be helpful info wouldn't it! Had contact Monday and Tuesday.

I don't think it takes long, as it has a much shorter incubation period now, but it can vary (unhelpful!). I know someone who lives in the same house as someone who tested positive, who only tested positive a week later (as their partner became free). So I'd say to stick with the tests for a while yet.

Dh had it and I shared the living room and bed with him and didn't catch it. The kids didn't get it either but they avoided us mostly (they are teenagers)

Grand daughter stayed here on Saturday, was positive Sunday afternoon. I tested positive on Wednesday and adult DS who lives here was positive today

Last month Dp had close contact with a colleague on a course - spent all day with them. They had contact on the Wednesday, colleague tested positive on the Thursday am, Dp did a pcr on the Friday which was negative, negative lft Saturday, but by the Sunday he had a strong positive lft, confirmed by pcr. So 4 days ish.

It took me a week to get it after Dp tested positive!! We weren't isolating away from each other either!

Thanks all. I was hoping I might be out of the woods due to the new variant supposedly having a shorter incubation period. Obviously I'll keep testing for the seven days. Fingers crossed.
