6yo Strong +ve on Wednesday- now Negative?

Our 6 year old was coughing on Wednesday morning, so we did a test, despite her testing negative the night before. It was a strong positive. So we kept her off school. She's been fine thankfully just sniffly and coughing a little bit.

She went to a friends house on Monday after school - then on Tuesday morning I got a message from the mum saying her husband and one child tested positive, so it makes sense that she could have caught it there.

This morning she tested completely negative! What does this mean?!

She’ll need to re test on day five (Wednesday is day zero) and again on day six and will be free to leave isolation on day six providing her day five and six tests are clear. One of my children had a negative lft very quickly after testing positive before Christmas. I’m assuming she had a low viral load and cleared it quickly. Everyone is different.

Did she have a PCR?

My DS (6) is the same at the moment. Tested with a strong positive on Tuesday night after complaining of a headache. He's now showing negative on lateral flow. Apart from being snotty, he is his usual self.

Guidance is if he shows negative lateral flow on Sunday (day 5) and Monday (day 6), he can leave isolation. School have confirmed he can come back then too.

Hope your DD is ok.
