Faintest of lines just after the 30 minute mark.

35 minutes to be precise. I'm sure Ds has Faintest line on lft, easily missed. Cant even get it to show up on photo.

DD's was very faint on Sunday to start with then got stronger so likely he could have it (although we only had it in December). He has upset stomach.

The most obvious thing to do is to do another tomorrow of course, which we will..

Would a very faint positive take 30 minutes to show up?!

Is it flowflex or whatever it's called?

Yeah flow flex!

I’ve had this recently with Flowflex - a line so faint that it appeared grey and not until probably >15 mins. It was only visible in strong daylight (not under artificial light) and my DH couldn’t make it out at all. Did another test later in the day where I also swabbed my tonsils and got a very clear positive result. Difficult to do tonsils with a toddler I know but I’d wait until tomorrow to confirm

Luckymummytoone · 20/01/2022 20:41

My sons did this a day or two before he was a clear positive xx

altmember · 20/01/2022 20:47

Yes, if there's any sign of a line however faint, it's a positive result. It could be the swab just didn't catch very much (unlikely),

CA0932017 · 20/01/2022 20:47

I've just done another which was negative and the swab felt more thorough than the first...

Will do another tomorrow..

He's had covid in December as did Dd but got it again.. he's had an upset belly! Never ending. I cannot swab his tonsils. He's autistic and swabbing his nose is hard enough 😪

or that you've caught it early on, and as you say, will come up stronger in the next couple of days.

The instructions say don't read after 30 minutes. The line was not present within 30 minutes but at 35. I can't see how an evap line would magically appear just over 30 mins though.

Ive left my own negative lft's out before on the side and they are still negative an hour or so later... once I did an lft and fell sleep within the 30 minutes and woke up 2 hours later 😅 Wasn't whether to bin without looking or look at it. Thankfully it was negative.

Only the flowflex always give me the faintest of faint lines.

CA0932017 · 20/01/2022 20:51

I'm just so annoyed. Testing him is traumatic as he has sen and will know I have to do it tomorrow again. Likely he does have covid as many are reporting stomach issues and Dd has it, half his class have it inc his 1:1 ta, but I just need to know. He had an upset stomach yesterday but better today!

My DS’s did this in the am, PM it was still very faint but in the time limit then next morning it was obviously positive.

FawnFrenchieMum · 20/01/2022 20:55

He’d actually gone out as well as he waited the 30 mins, checked it and gone out. I just happened to glance at it again as it was left out and 10/15 mins later and there was the faintest line.

MiddleClassProblem · 20/01/2022 21:01

Just to say that DH did a test that turned positive after an hour, this was for a hospital appointment and had to take it with him, that’s when they saw it was positive. However they did another test there and it was negative and said he was fine.

A few days later he got a cough and had a pcr, still negative.

I would test again in the morning but any queries I’d either book a pcr or call 119 for advice.

Thanks all. When we had covid last month the first time lft's were pretty instant!

SNUG2022 · 20/01/2022 21:15

I wouldn't assume this type is positive. There's faint and there's flowflex faint.

CA0932017 · 20/01/2022 21:17

This is the test in question. It looks pretty clear to in the photo but I swear I could see a line myself. Only if I used the flash light on my phone though.. it's in the bin now. Try again tomorrow!

Thats negative. If there is a line it is obvious and within the time limit.

AyeEee123 · 20/01/2022 22:26

This is my son’s. Came up after the time limit and was confirmed positive by PCR.

It says don’t read after thirty mins for a reason

It was literally just after. Was binned after the 35 minute mark!

Did another and negative. Totally fine otherwise. Just had the upset tummy Wednesday.. will do more over the weekend!

Problem is I think I can see things that aren't here sometimes. Binned it dead on the 30 minute mark this time!

Dd is on day 5 and negative now so hopefully negative again tomorrow!

I'm feeling confused too. My daughter has covid. I did one of my 7 day tests and noticed today mine had a v faint line, who knows how long after but def much longer than 30 mins. We have lots of other test lying around that have not done this.. The one today was a nose and throat one. Will see what tomorrow brings. Hard not to be suspicious! Hope you're all in the clear now.

I can’t see a line at all here but can on @AyeEee123’s

You can end up looking so intensely at them! Hope his tummy feels better soon but it looks like a separate issue.
