Anyone start with back pain?

I have heard that back pain can be part of Covid but wondering if anyone has had Omicron recently and it STARTED with back pain? My DD is positive now (since Monday) and I feel fine but have a really sore back since this morning for no apparent reason. Test is negative.

@Somethingsnappy did he get any worse symptoms after he was positive? I am now on day 4 of muscle ache, slightly sore throat, headaches, tiredness, sore lower back, slight nausea and dodgy stomach (actually better now!). All LFT negative, did a PCR yesterday but no result yet. My DD has been positive since Tuesday and DH since yesterday, I think I MUST surely have it or be having some sort of immune reaction? I keep worrying it's going to get dramatically worse but maybe this is it already? If anything I am a bit better today, felt worse on days 2 and 3 but still very mild which worries me that I've not got it yet!

Yes yes yes!!!

I’ve just tested positive on LFT. It was negative this time yesterday. Did one to be on the safe side before going to work, although I feel absolutely horrendous.

The pain in my back is absolutely like labour pain(DS was back to back). Basically strong flu like symptoms.

Keep doing LFT’s, I went to a football match yesterday on the back of testing negative and feel really bad

LaMariposa · 24/01/2022 07:13

Yes, I had this just before Xmas with covid, I knew I had it before I tested as I had identical back pain the previous year. Some kind of pleural inflammatory thing possibly.

I’m planning on doing a LFT on DS before school, that’s enough isn’t it? He’s well and no symptoms

Locoooomotive · 24/01/2022 09:19

@Partey yes that is enough now for your son. I am still negative today (this is day 5 of feeling rough, day 7 since my DD tested positive and my DH was positive 3 days ago), I am carrying on walking my other DD to school, she is negative and well, and we test every morning. I think I am following the 'rules', I also have no classic symptoms anyway so don't actually even qualify for a PCR but have done one anyway. I am only mildly unwell though, this is not a patch on how I felt first time around so I assume the vaccine is doing it's job for me and keeping viral load too low to detect.

Meant to say other than walking my DD to school I am not doing anything, feels a risk even though i am negative!

DS tested positive too this morning.
I’d used last test so a friend dropped some off and his came up positive straight away too.

He’s been iffy but we both tested negative through last week.

I woke on Saturday morning with a killer headache and really awful lower back pain that was shooting down both legs, felt hot too and temp at 38.8. Took a LFT which gave an instant positive, before it even hit the control line!

Caramel181 · 24/01/2022 15:24

Tested positive today. My main symptom is awful lower back pain, achy hips and legs. I can't get comfy no matter what position I lie down in. Even paracetamol and ibuprofen barely make a difference. I'm in my 30s, no health conditions and double jabbed. I came on here to see if anyone else had the same because everyone I know in real life only had mild cold symptoms! I feel like death warmed up :(

Locoooomotive · 24/01/2022 15:32

@Caramel181 do you have any other symptoms or is it mainly just the aching?

Fever and chills, lack of appetite. My DH has it too but his symptoms are completely different. He has a runny nose and a continuous cough!

BunnyRuddington · 24/01/2022 16:13

A colleague had returned to work today abs she said that hers started with back ache.

Locoooomotive · 24/01/2022 16:18

@Caramel181same in my house! DH has cold symptoms and is a bit tired and I am all achey, nauseous, back and head ache. Basically everything aches but no runny nose or cough etc! DD just had tiredness and sore tummy, nothing else.
