Did you catch it again? Family member with covid

So my whole family had Covid last summer. One of my kids has just tested positive again (pretty sure from nursery). Thing is they never actually tested when we all had covid last summer but did have an antibody test later on that was positive so we assumed they had had it then but were asymptomatic. Anyway just wondered if people have experience getting covid again when someone has it in the family ? So far we are all testing negatives on lateral flows

I would like to know this too. One pos here, out of five. Three have had it already.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 19/01/2022 22:35

I had it in November. DD never got it. Now she has caught it from school and I have it again so yes.

Passthecake30 · 19/01/2022 22:39

My partner had it early October, caught from
my son, then caught it at work at Xmas.

My daughter had it five weeks ago and tested positive again this week. Assuming she had Delta and now Omicron.

CallMeNutribullet · 20/01/2022 22:58

I was reinfected within 3 months - presumably Delta at the end of October then Omicron at New Year

YouMakeShitTea · 20/01/2022 23:03

All 4 of us had it Dec 2020 - pcr tested. 3 poorly 1 asymptomatic
1 dc had it last week - Lft - quite poorly
No one else has had it in the household so far and dc is back at school

WeDontDoPrincess · 20/01/2022 23:43

Yes. I had it 11 weeks ago and just tested positive again after being stuck in with dd10 for 3 days since her positive result.

StellaGibson118 · 20/01/2022 23:47

Well, my daughter had a positive pcr on 14th October and shes positive again now so yes.

All4Love · 21/01/2022 04:31

I know three people who were reinfected.

All three had COVID 2020 and tested positive again last December.

ShakespearesSisters · 21/01/2022 04:36

Friend and 2 kids had it September 21, 2 kids are positive again now.

Panicmode1 · 21/01/2022 05:27

In Sept, three of my family had it, three of us stayed negative. Two have just had it (one for the second time), and 4 of us stayed negative.

Blueberry40 · 21/01/2022 05:37

Yes- my son has just had it for a third time!

Onatree · 21/01/2022 05:45

Friends boys caught it in early Dec from primary. Friend got it after a whole week with them. Friends partner didn’t.

He just said yesterday - boys have got it again! And this time partner has got it. And now he is (again!) waiting to get it from them after a week or so

DancyNancy · 21/01/2022 06:06

Oh man there's quite a few getting it so soon. I just had it over Xmas and thought I'd get 3 months of a break at the very least.
Good to know I guess.

Of those who got it twice within 2/3 months did you notice a difference in symptoms?

I find it fascinating that delta was there and then all of a sudden omicron took over and delta seemed to disappear (in ROI) at least

ElenaAvalor · 21/01/2022 11:47

DD1 had it on October and nobody else caught it in the house. DD2 now has it. On Day 5 and so far we're all negative.

CA0932017 · 21/01/2022 12:04

Absolutely, especially if it was several months ago.

We all had covid last month before Christmas. Every single person in the house!

Dd now has it again this week, twice in 5 weeks!!! Ds could possibly have it too as has some symptoms but Covid like symptoms as such... (not tested yet). There's major outbreaks in their school! Last month they caught it off me and dp, now from school.

Me and dp are negative this week so far..

lineandsinker · 21/01/2022 13:46

I tested positive at start of October. Just tested positive again this morning - about 104 days. We’ve had lots of student cases at school and I have had contact with a few of them at the beginning of the week so it was only a matter of time, really.

Bit frustrated but hopefully it’ll be a mild cold like last time. Got an itchy throat and that’s it.

Yes, my daughter was asymptomatic in October. Current infection is like a heavy cold
