Are the rates going down as there are no LFTs left?

Seriously cannot get hold of any anywhere so no idea how we are supposed to be doing them twice a week each 🤷🏽‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

5 of us in the house so need 2 packs per week.

Yes, you can easily get tests online. Also schools have lots to give out to pupils.

Cases are indeed falling, as seen in ons data

amicissimma · 20/01/2022 15:39

I remember when cases were rising and people were suggesting that it was due to increased testing (testing was increasing, probably as people were feeling the increase in cases round them), the idea was dismissed.

Now that cases are falling (and testing isn't falling, or not much, apart from a huge peak around the holidays) poster after poster is dismissing the fall as being due to lack of tests!

The dashboard shows the percentage change in reported cases and the percentage change in testing every day.

@kickupafuss

Even if you can get the tests, I think lots of people are not reporting their positive cases anyway.
Or any results. Someone actually asked me how to record their results the other day because they wanted a negative LFT result after their positive PCR. I can’t fathom how someone can book a PCR but not know, this long into it, how to record LFT results!

I've never recorded any results myself!

I don’t record mine either. They’ve always been negative. When I had actual symptoms I took a PCR, which was positive.

You're still supposed to record your results when they're negative. It takes less than 10 seconds, cmon.

Bearwiththehairs · 20/01/2022 17:44

People just aren’t registering the LFT results.

Blubells · 20/01/2022 19:41

But they never have!

Bearwiththehairs · 20/01/2022 20:04

People didn’t register a positive LFT previously but would have gone for a PCR, which would have been counted.

There are lots of things I’m supposed to do that I don’t, like sometimes drinking more than 14 units a week and not always eating 5 portions of fruit and veg a day 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Posts like this really annoy me - when was the last time you tried online OP? Honestly? I’ve always been able to order online even over Christmas. Yes occasionally I had to make a teeny bit of effort and check more than once a day, but now there is no issue at all
