Do the NHS still phone you if you record a positive LFT?

Just wondered if they still phone if you test positive on a LFT ? If so how long after you record your result on line do they contact you?

Surely they must struggle to keep up with calls at the current rate of infection so I wondered if they'd abandoned this.

Also, am I right in thinking you only need a PCR if you test positive on a LFT AND have symptoms?

When you record it, there’s a choice of whether you want them to phone or email you with test/trace/self isolation info.

Oh and no I think you’re wrong on the second, wouldn’t swear to it tho. If you had symptoms Technically it should’ve been a PCR in the first place? But a positive LFT doesn’t need a confirmation PCR. Could go either way! #helpful

I recorded a negative LFT and asked to be contacted by email. Nothing so far apart from the initial message asking me to isolate.

  • positive, sorry!

DP said he ticked both boxes. He's currently filling in forms online which came through almost immediately.

No phone call yet though.

I just recorded mine it didn't ask me for phone or email?
I hope they don't be calling me
I've already notified people who I was in contact with

I wonder if the emails/forms/phone calls vary according to whether or not you have symptoms (which DP does)
