Cold symptoms but negative LFT but tonight I've developed a cough....

Pretty sure it's still a cold and just shifted to my chest overnight LFT still negative but do I now have to do a Pcr? Feeling like shit and now guilty I've been in work last few days if I do have covid but also guilty of I need to take time off for a test when likely to be a cold 😔. What do I do?

I tried two lft tests, both negative, pcr was positive.

It just feels like a normal cold but I've been up all night coughing. I guess I will have to book test to be in the safe side.

No harm in doing that. At least you will know.

You have a symptom (probably more than the official cough) you need a PCR. Lateral flows are to pick up unsymptomatic . You might not like the answer but surely you know by now???!

Likely just a cold but might be a good idea to do a pcr. We got results within 14 hours in the last few days! Or just keep doing lft's. Dd had cold symptoms on Sunday. On Sunday one lft had the faintest of lines, easily missed, then a negative lft but by the next day it was a stronger line!

You need to swab your throat as well as your nose with LFTs even the one that says nose only. This seems to be the only way they can pick up Omicron in early stages

Ah that's interesting as only been doing the nose as instructed. Pcr done definitely thinking it's just a cold but I I think I needed the day off as really felt awful last night.

PCR is needed if LFT is negative but you have symptoms.
