Loss of taste and smell

Hello what day do u normally
Lose taste and smell I'm day 6 and still going strong. Is this a thing with omicron or is it only delta?

My ds is on day 8 and lost his smell and taste last night. He found it really strange as he could smell and taste in the morning then was eating a snack at night and realised he couldn't taste or smell it.
