Anyone else reinfected twice in a month.

No one believes me when I say Dd has had it twice in a month.

She had covid in December, was totally asymptomatic. Caught it off me & Dp who both had it mildly. Did the full 10 days isolation and was out by Christmas Day.

Fast forward.. back to school and most of her class and the teacher test positive the first week back, apart from a small few which in my opinion could have it as the parents aren't testing unless they actually have symptoms, they could be asymptomatic. Was hoping Dd would miss it.

Anyway, woke up complaining her throat hurt and was scratchy. Snotty nose but not particularly ill.

Did an lft (had negative lft's earlier in the week) and a very faint line! Did a pcr despite it being within 90 days, you can with new symptoms and she's bloody positive!!

This time with mild symptoms.

We all had covid last month and I honestly thought it was omicron based on our symptoms (as above Dd was asymptomatic, the rest of us had symptoms). Maybe we had delta and now it's omicron.

Maybe we've got omicron twice.

Anyone else been through this?

The isolation is the worse part.

This is currently happening in DDs class. One child came back to school on Thursday after isolation from a positive test and has tested positive again over the weekend, she had done her 10 days and was getting negative LFTs until Sunday.

It seems to have spread like wildfire in DDs year though, 12 out of 60 struck down over the weekend so far.

Yes, same in SD class. She tested pos on 9th Dec and 10th Jan.

We have around 20 out of 27 in a primary class! Mainly all last weekend but a couple more during the week 😪

She has been well both times, just a minor snotty nose! The rest of us haven't been so lucky with our symptoms, although we weren't infected in December, she hadn't seen us for a week before testing pos!

It's crazy how everyone is affected differently!

Wonder if was Delta then Omicron?

Flapjak · 17/01/2022 14:02

Yes , although i seem to be hearing this happening more to children than adults.

Blubells · 17/01/2022 14:03

I also bet that these were two separate variants- first Delta and now Omicron?

CA0932017 · 17/01/2022 14:45

I honestly thought we had omicron in December - maybe not 😪

I think I’ve had it about 5 weeks apart, my symptoms were different, so think I had Delta at the beginning of December and Omicron the second week of January. My employer didn’t think the second positive test counted though so I carried on working and didn’t self isolate.

Did you feel ok? Only mild symptoms?

Brindle88 · 17/01/2022 18:45

There’s another thread saying the same. Very worrying. Feels like it’s never ending.

Almost certainly... Delta was dominant in early December, Omicron by Christmas.
CC1991 · 17/01/2022 22:27

According to my LFTs I had it twice in 2 weeks (18th and 29th December), but both PCRs were negative.

Meandyouandyouandme · 19/01/2022 18:10

@Blubells yes I had a mild cold, felt a bit rough and was tired but not too bad. I am a carer though so work with very vulnerable people.
