One of my Dcs has tested positive, they’re feeling pretty unwell at the moment (flu type symptoms, aching, sore throat and headache etc)
Does anyone who’s had it have any tips or advice for what helped them please?

When I had it I took Sambuccol which is elderberry syrup with zinc and vitamin C. You can order on Amazon or get from Boots. Kids can take it. Stir it into juice or warm Ribena.

I made sure to drink lots of fluids and eat light foods such as soup and toast.

I also did some gentle yoga to stimulate my lymphatic system (part of the immune system). It also helped to relieve the stiffness from lying in bed/on the sofa. On YouTube type in ‘yoga for immunity’ or ‘yoga for when you’re sick’ and you could adapt/select the poses for a child. It can include some deep breathing exercises too which can help. Rest is important but movement is important too.

Are you giving calpol too?

Hot lemon honey is soothing and has vitamin c to help the immune system keep going.
Soups with ginger and garlic both which have some properties that could reduce symptoms and are nutritious and soothing.
Gargling with listerine or salt water.
Paracetamol and rest.

Thanks both.
We are giving calpol to keep the aches at bay.
Will ensure to keep up with vitamin C!
