Struggling to recover after covid

I started with symptoms on the 29th December, positive PCR on the 31st. I’m 41, no underlying conditions, 3x vaccinated. But I’m really struggling to recover. I’m exhausted. I have ongoing pain in my lower back, a cramp-like pain in my lower legs, slight on/off tightness in my upper chest and an on/off sore throat. If I do anything at all it gets worse. Do I need to do anything (see a doctor etc) or will this eventually pass?

Sorry to hear you are still so ill. I tested positive on 15th December and two weeks ago I was still really ill. I am so much better today than even a week ago. Paramedics have told me that it takes a month to get over and to take it very easy. Everything you have written sounds like post covid rather than anything else so you really just need to rest, rest and more rest. If you suspect a chest infection etc. then of course go to the GP.

Sorry you're still feeling unwell. I tested positive on December 10th and I'm still unwell too; congestion, headache, sore throat and aches and pains. I went to the doctor on Monday and she thinks I have long Covid.
I was brighter from December 24th, still struggling but managed to get out and about and all the chores at home. I went back to work January 4th and got steadily worse until I was bed bound for a few days. I managed Thursday and Friday in work and today I'm floored again.
I'm having some blood tests done but the GP said it's just a case of managing symptoms and resting when I need to. I think she mentioned a referral if I'm the same after 12 weeks.
It's awful and I really don't know how I'm going to manage for much longer as I'm a single parent and work full time.

catchingzzzeds - I’m sorry to hear that you’re also struggling to recover. Long covid is what I’m worried about. I’m trying to stay calm and remember it can take a while to get better from a virus. Fingers crossed we feel better soon.

I tested positive on the 20th and I only started feeling better on Monday. I was actually still in bed all day until last Sunday. I’m 40 and unvaccinated.

Lots of sleep, best nutrition you have the energy, money & appetite for. Potentially a multivitamin & mineral supplement. DH & I had covid before Christmas & are still trying to recover, both having more frequent naps, he’s still got no sense of smell & v poor appetite, I have gone off lots of food as things just don’t taste right (suspect partial loss of taste). We’re going to bed much earlier than normal in addition to the naps. DH is still being sick regularly & my breathing isn’t great.

Basically, listen to your body & don’t push yourself. Covid is a horrible illness even for those who appear to get off relatively lightly.

I had a month off work, I am never ill. I ended up with two lots of antibiotics. I'd phone the Dr on Monday personally.
