I've read a couple of threads on this but struggling to get my head around it - I tested positive on flow flex - wasn't convinced so checked with another lateral flow, was my last flow flex so used nose & throat - negative! Went for pcr - negative! At pcr test they gave me another box of flow flex and while waiting for results I did 2 - both positive.. booked another pcr to double check also negative.. in the last 5 days I'm consistently positive on flow flex but completely negative on any other brand of lateral flow and 2 neg pcr tests!! I've been testing twice weekly for work since the summer so I doubt it's picking up old infection - I was positive on Dec 2020.. What's going on? Could they be picking up
Something else - I follow instructions no eating or drinking before tests and I don't smoke or vape...

We have only ever been sent flow flex when ordering by post.

WarriorN · 15/01/2022 11:59

Just been sent the original 30 min throat and nose ones by post. School had been more recently getting the green orient ones but it hadn't been delivered so we've had to order.

Last order to home was flow flex.

I get the nhs 30 min nose and throat tests via post when I order online but the flow flex were from dc school

I'm in Scotland and the fulfilment is usually from either Glasgow or Sunderland, I wonder if that makes a difference. Whether I get them posted from the gov.uk site or pick them up from the local pharmacy I always get Orient Gene's ones, and have done since about October last year.

Since flowflex is very consistently wrong for you -- stop taking it.

What time did you take the test? I always test positive on flowflex, but only if I do them first thing in the morning. Had a PCR every time (before the rules changed) and never had a positive PCR test. All other lateral flow brands are always negative.

I rang test and trace the first time and was advised to book a second PCR which was also negative. They told me to isolate anyway, although I don't think that's consistent with what other people were told. They did tell me though that there's a known issue with the flowflex tests causing false positives and they were looking into it.

As a PP above said, it's probably a good idea to report via the yellow card scheme.

I've been testing positive with flowflex since October!! Never had covid as far as I'm aware! Other brands negative.

Just out of interest @shreddednips when did test and trace say they were aware of an issue with FlowFlex? The last time I rang them to book a PCR and told them I always test positive on lateral flows and negative on PCRs they were not interested at all.

Really hope they discover that some people have some other biological reason which triggers a positive result.

I have been unable to source anything apart from FlowFlex locally.
