Household with Covid, but some testing negative with symptoms

Morning all,

Just wondering if anyone else been in a similar situation??

DS1 & DS2 both positive with Covid with loads of symptoms, headache, loss of taste, temperature & night sweats, cough, sore throat, sneezing. Both tested positive on LFT and PCRs earlier this week.

I felt awful earlier this week with headache, backache, sore eyes, but have tested negative every day on LFT and negative on PCR from Wednesday.

DH and I have both now developed bad headache and sore throat but still testing negative on LFT - do you think we should PCR again??

What are the chances of it not being Covid for me and DH??

We're not isolating anyone, it's too difficult with children when they feel so poorly and want comforting. We're of the view we'll all eventually get it so not going to make things more stressful.

Also should mention DS1 x 1 vax, DH and I both triple vaxxed.

Thanks Smile

Yes, I would get PCR’s booked for you both, you may have tested too early.

Yes we had this. DS tested positive (symptomless) on a LTF in the evening, symptoms started the next morning and he tested positive on a PCR that afternoon. On his day 7 DD had a temp but a negative PCR. ON his day 12 I had a temp but tested negative on a PCR the following day. DD and I continued to test negative on LTFs afterwards. DP also felt rough - run down and a sore throat but was testing negative on LTFs, he didn’t get a PCR.

DS who had covid only had a temp for a day, and felt tired for a couple more days and then after that he was fine. DD and I both had temps for 3-4 days and felt tired/grotty for about a week in all. DP also felt off for about 5 days.

Also DP was triple vaxxed by then, I was double vaxxed and had booster booked. DD isn’t vaxxed.

Thank you, think it's best to get PCRs done again to be on the safe side

Ds1 was negative with symptoms on Sunday, although I thought it was a tummy bug when he was sick all night. He tested positive at home on Tuesday after school informed us he was a contact case. everyone else tested negative that day.

Ds 2 positive Wednesday morning, DH and I still testing negative. I had a nasty headache but thought that came from all the sleepless nights, plus we had the booster on Saturday which gave me a headache and aches.

Thursday I was still testing negative, booked tests to confirm the boys cases as proof for vaccination later on. Everyone tested positive on Thursday. So yes, we were both positive which was only picked up by PCr.

On the bright side we’re isolating at the same time and we’ll be finished next week. Both boys are feeling better now.
