If you've had a positive LFT and know exactly when you were exposed....?

How many days after being exposed to the Covid+ contact did you get your first positive LFT?

I know I was exposed last Sunday (9th Jan) as I met up with a friend who got a positive LFT the following day (Mon 10th)

I have been doing daily LFTs since my friend told me of her positive test and they have all been negative so far

Just wondering at what point I can assume I was lucky and didn't get the virus from her

Daughter was positive on the Monday. We had spent the Sunday together & playing card games in close contact. I didn’t turn positive until the Friday evening , husband Saturday evening, her boyfriend Sunday evening. My other daughter never tested positive.

Thanks @Change123today that's really useful, I've just done a test that was negative but sounds like I'm not out of the wood yet!

Interested as I tested positive on Tuesday but had a few symptoms on monday. I saw a group of friends on sat, another group on Sunday, a friend on monday, live with dh, Dd and her boyfriend is here all the time. So far nobody has tested positive. 🤷‍♀️

Not sure when I was exposed though. Average exposure to symptoms time i read is 5 days.?

Average exposure v positivity has gone down with omicron.

RichTeaRichTea · 14/01/2022 07:45

Five days after contact but two days after they tested positive on LFT so it was only two days of testing for me before it turned positive

RichTeaRichTea · 14/01/2022 07:45

I had symptoms though, starting 2/3 days after contact

CovidCorvid · 14/01/2022 07:49

That’s interesting. I think I most likely caught it on the Saturday in a gym class. Someone in the class had symptoms and hadn’t tested and cheerfully told everyone. She got booted out the class but had been there for ten mins!

I got mild symptoms mon evening. So would tie in with a Saturday exposure. If it wasn’t sat it was weds before.

I have no symptoms so hoping that is a good sign

I wouldn't normally be that bothered but I've something scheduled for next weekend that I don't want to miss!

mummyto6123456 · 14/01/2022 08:17

2 days

Toanewstart22 · 14/01/2022 08:20

I slept with my partner, shared a water bottle, and kissed and hugged multiple times
Next day - he had positive LFT
I have still no tested positive
That was 3 weeks ago!

RosaBaby2 · 14/01/2022 08:23

5 days from contact to positive lft

kimlo · 14/01/2022 08:31

contact between 10 and half 10. Positive lf 4 days later in the evening.

Blubells · 14/01/2022 09:20

3-4 days

But you may have only a small viral load do the LTF isn't picking it up.
