Day 6/7 lft still a strong line

My day 6/7 lfts have still got a really strong positive. Has anyone else had this? I was hoping to be "free" today but I obviously won't go out. Work had even scheduled me in for today! So now it means Saturday is my earliest possible end isolation date.

I think lots of people aren't negative by day 6/7

My DD has a lot of friends in their early 20’s who have had covid recently, most of them have had to do the full 10 days isolation.

JessicaPeach · 13/01/2022 10:08

Yes I had this, I couldn't get out until day 9. My mil has just done the full 10 days and was still testing positive on day 10

Whinge · 13/01/2022 10:11

Everyone I know who has had Covid recently has had to do the full 10 days, and in most cases they're still testing positive on day 10.

daisybrown37 · 13/01/2022 10:56

My son tested negative day 8/9. Day 6 still very positive and then fainter day 7.

SailorGeri · 13/01/2022 11:00

I'm day 7 and also a strong positive. A friend said to me I would be infectious any more, but I disagree. Surely it's 10 days isolation for a reason?

SailorGeri · 13/01/2022 11:05

Wouldn't not would

Ladylunchalot · 13/01/2022 11:54

Sorry, probably being quite dim here, but what happens if you’re still testing positive after day 10? I'm on day 5 and still strongly positive (and feel rubbish).

dementedpixie · 13/01/2022 11:56

You dont need to test after day 10 and can leave isolation anyway as long as you feel well enough and don't have a fever

Ladylunchalot · 13/01/2022 12:07

@dementedpixie thank you, my brain has turned to mush Smile

GunsNShips · 13/01/2022 12:09

I agree with others. Everyone I’ve known with covid recently has done the whole 10 days. I did have a very faint line on day 10 but didn’t test from day 11 onwards as I was allowed out regardless.

Luckymummytoone · 13/01/2022 14:28

I’m still positive today at day ten but obviously will be free tomorrow anyway x
