Catching Covid again? Who's had it twice?

I've just recovered from covid, I have had my booster. What are my chances of catching it again.

Who has had it twice? If so how soon after the first time did you catch it?

So many people have had it twice that I know of personally (colleagues in a high exposure setting)
I’ve heard of people catching it 3 times, but luckily don’t know anyone like this in person

I currently know of someone triple jabbed that has currently got it for the 3rd time. Only mild this time though.

A 10 year old I know had it in November and then again this week!!! 😳

I had it November 2020. Had both vaccines and booster then just had it again this Christmas. 2nd time was very mild , I’ve had much worse colds. I work with someone who has had it 3 times.

I had it for the first time in April 2020 and again in December 2021.
Fairly mild the first time but have had long covid since.
Second time was totally different but still fairly mild. Keeping fingers crossed my long covid symptoms dont get worse again.

July/ august 21 then again now for my family.

Two friends have had it twice. But at the start of the pandemic and then now.
If you compare that to flu - eg getting flu every other year that isn’t too bad.

I had it in the first lockdown and just before Christmas so 18 months apart. Also have a colleague just got over their 2nd infection a year apart. We were both double jabbed. However we work in school so very exposed.

April 2020 (strongly suspect) and again now.
I will be interested to see if DD1 & 2 get it as they had Delta in September!

You can do one within 90 days if you have any "new symptoms", or when travelling to or from abroad

My mum had it in August 2021 and she's tested positive on a PCR today. She's triple jabbed. She's got negative lateral flows though. She does weekly pcrs for work.

I had it in March 2020 and got long covid. I currently have it again, it’s awful.

I knew I had it before the test results, the specific type of chest pain and breathlessness.

@CovidCorvid - that’s PCR tests due to their sensitivity. LFTs aren’t very sensitive & are actually a really good indicator of when you are infectious. So long as you’ve had a negative LFT after having covid, then you resume regular testing with them if needed.

I’ve had covid twice. Dec 20 & Oct 21. Roll on omicron 😫

2 vaccines + booster.

3 bouts of covid:
April 2020, (no test but vv likely, partner tested +ve for antibodies), Jan 21 (+ve PCR) , Dec 21 (+ve PCR) .

With a school aged child (too young for vaccine) I guess I'll get it again .

This is widely misquoted and misunderstood. If you have had covid and have no symptoms you are told not to test for something like going on holiday as you COULD still test postive. But if you have new symptoms even 4 weeks after getting covid you are told to take a new PCR test as people with different strains are getting covid now 5 weeks later with PCR showing they’ve had different strains.

I am so grateful for the vaccines, with a lot of people getting it mildy, without the vaccine we would be fucked. Like back in the first wave when you were told to stay at home unable to breathe until you were practically dying. And we ran out of oxygen in some hospitals.

I've seen a report recently of someone testing positive again, with symptoms, 17 days after finishing isolation and apparently having recovered/negative lateral flows inbetween. But I wonder if they had Delta the first time and Omicron the second time? Don't know.
I would still take the usual precautions, but would hope you have a bit of extra immunity for now.

My dd had it mid November and tested positive and has symptoms as of yesterday. She's been soo upset

DD knows somebody who has had it 4 times! The first time was February 2020 - they caught it skiiing in Italy. The most recent time was December 2021 - presumably Omicron.

Like @User3456 I work with somebody who has had it twice in quick session. I also presumed delta then omicron

My son had it in October and has it again now ☹️

I had it twice 7 months apart.

2 people i know that had it twice had it 12 months apart

Me, 5 months apart.
