Mine started the same and I didn't get a positive LTF for another 24 hours. Waiting on PCR and obviously don't know if it's definitely Omicron but symptoms (hot and cold, headache and bunged up like a cold) seem to fit. Caught it from a child in my class, took 3 and a half days for symptoms to show. Hope you don't feel too poorly.

I read the other day that night sweats are a main symptom of omicron www.healthcanal.com/news/night-omicron-main-symptoms

I also read (here?) that false negatives for omicron with the newer style lfts where you don't have to swab both your tonsils and nostrils are quite high. Obviously neither of the things I said are conclusive but I would get a pcr.

Yes, I did.
Negative laterals all through illness. Had runny nose sneezes, cough, sinus congestion, loss of appetite, headache, sweating/chills, peaked at day 5/6. Felt more myself by day 11. Still dealing with fatigue and sinuses at day 20. Surely this must have been Omicron?

Watapalava · 12/01/2022 07:11

I had confirmed positive pcr

Night sweats, chills, aching joints were main symptoms. I has no cold/nasal symptoms at all.

I had that with flu a few years ago. So could be flu.

ZubinB · 12/01/2022 07:16

Yes I did - started with terrible
chills and muscles aches/headache on the Tuesday, although still negative on the lateral flow. Was positive on lateral flow less than 24 hours later on the Weds.

Anyone else had weird vivid dreams since they had omicron? I don't normally even remember any dreams. Now I'm having really strange and vivid dreams every night.

jendifer · 12/01/2022 08:04

Yes, and vivid dreams too. I also didn’t get a positive LFT for 24 hours though.

Mine was also exactly like this, although I had a really sore throat in addition. Was 24 hours from symptoms showing that I got a positive LFT.

Interesting. I haven't seen the post covid dreaming mentioned anywhere but it seems to be a thing!

Kay23456 · 12/01/2022 11:04

Yes, night sweats were horrific. It started just after Christmas and I was waking up with PJs soaked through and the bed like a swamp. It was vile. I also got aching muscles and really bad fatigue. Nothing much in the way of cold-like symptoms. I'm on the mend now, but exercise (which I am keeping very low key) is causing stupid amounts of muscle soreness given the little I am doing and I am still getting an awful sweat every other night or so.

Now you mention it, I realise I have been much more aware of my dreams recently.
