How long did your fever last if you had covid?

How long did your fever last if you had covid? Or if you have a fever now, what day are you on? I am day 3 and still have a fever.

I’m on day 8. My fever only properly developed on day 5 and hasn’t lifted yet, although I very tentatively feel slightly better today and tested negative on a LFT for the second day running, so can technically stop isolating.

It’s a weird one, though. Usually with a temperature paracetamol helps bring it down at least temporarily, but it hasn’t touched my temp with covid.

I get worried. I just want to be all better. I get anxious of course when I read google.

If I take paracetamol or ibprofen, then it brings temp down and I feel better. But when I pass the time and wears off, the fever comes back and then I feel slight aches again.

I am now feeling anxious because I am waiting for the next dose to work. I wanted to wait and see if I had no more fever. This is so frustrating. And then of course I googled and got scared. :(

The odd thing is, I only got a positive on one lateral flow. I have take one the next day and today and negative. I did a PCR test so waiting for that. But both my kids have had covid, and my sisters family who my kids were with recently. So I know it is covid.

Mine lasted 5 days. Was more at night and I put a cold pack on then.

I don't worry about fever as it's a sign my body is fighting the infection. Bringing it down with drugs prolongs that process.

Mamabear12 · 11/01/2022 19:15

@SiulaGrande this is what my husband says. But with out the drugs I feel rubbish, and I have 3 kids to look after and a dog....which does not help. I am trying to rest when I can and my dh helps a little, but he also has to work.

That sounds hard. For me, I only got better when I could go to bed most of the day as well as all night.

Mamabear12 · 11/01/2022 19:37

I try my best. In between doing things for them, I go and lie down. And I have let them watch a few hours of tv. I usually make it no tv all morning, when I have more energy. Then 1pm hits and I am like go watch tv and I lie in bed the rest of the day (except when I need to help them with things).

8/9 days. Meds never bought it below 38 but helped with the chills.

Mamabear12 · 11/01/2022 20:02

@ToJabOrNotToJab are you recovered now? How are you feeling?

I don’t think you can stop isolating if you’ve got a fever and are testing negative on a LFT? I’ll have to check

Mamabear12 · 11/01/2022 20:10

Oh I am not planning to stop isolating. It says online if you have fever you should still isolate.

@Mamabear12 I'm fine now thank you, this was in October. I was a bit worried I'd have to continue isolating after 10 days but luckily day 10 was my first day without fever. Hope you're feeling better soon

Mamabear12 · 11/01/2022 20:51

@ToJabOrNotToJab thanks for letting me know. Glad you are recovered from it! I hope I kick the fever by tomorrow and get on the mend! I get nervous when google mentions days 5-7 symptoms worsening!

About 2 days

Mamabear12 · 12/01/2022 10:07

Woke this morning and so far no fever, I hope it stays this way!

Day 10 and the fever has finally gone.
I feel SO much better as a result.
The weird depressive feeling and exhaustion has started to lift. Relieved!
