Hello. I have been taking it every 6 hours, as that is what it says on packet and that is when I start to feel the aches again. I am only on day one of doing this. Is it okay for a few days? Online it says do not take more then 4 times in 24 hour period and at least 4-6 hours apart. But not clear on how many days you can do this. MY sister thinks it should only be two days.

I don't think there's a problem with continuing to take paracetamol. It's codeine that's restricted to 3 days continuous usage.

Hope you're feeling better soon.

As long as the doses are more than 4 hours apart and you never take more than 4 doses in a 24 hour period, you are fine to take it for weeks. It is a safe drug as long as you stick to the dose directions.

I've taken it for 3 years so far.

2/3 days if it's codeine containing. She may be getting mixed up there.

I take it every day as part of a pain relief regime.

I think your sister might be thinking of the guidance around over-the-counter pharmacy-bought Co-Codomol, which is codeine and paracetamol. It's the codeine bit they worry about (addictive for many people).

My MIL has been taking it daily for about 50 years for pain related to her disability.

Ah, thanks for letting me know. She must be getting confused with it. I think it is also because of the paracetamol and how it can cause liver problems.
