Moderna awful headache and insomnia

Had my Moderna booster yesterday and the headache is intense! Also have a temp, but only 38 so not too bad. Anyone else get a headache as their main side effect? Have taken painkillers and waiting for them to work. I also had really bad insomnia, which was strange. Still, very glad to be boosted!

Me 🙋.

Had moderna booster on Friday morning, no insomnia but woke up yesterday with a humdinger of a head.

Spent the morning sat in a dark room with sunglasses on with a sick bucket in use. Truly awful.

Eventually I managed some dry toast and paracetamol which helped enormously.
Nothing this morning so it'll ease eventually I hope you feel better soon 🙂

Had a Moderna booster yesterday morning. Feel absolutely dreadful. Headache, nausea, dizziness, pain all over my body, injection arm is in agony….

Covidwoes · 09/01/2022 08:54

Oh no @BunsyGirl hope you can take it easy today. This headache is truly awful! Still, I've had Covid and I'd much rather have one day or two of vaccine side effects than get Covid again.

I had my Moderns booster on the 4th. Cracking headache later that day, ibupokin didn't touch the sides so I just went to bed. My arm still aches this morning, but no other symptoms.

@Covidwoes thank you. Just hope it’s not like my first AZ dose when I had a headache and shortness of breath for nine weeks!

Covidwoes · 09/01/2022 18:53

@elQuintoConyo the headache was awful! I ended up resorting to codeine which I had left over from DD2's birth. Thankfully it feels a lot better this evening. I am tired and achy now. Hoping to feel better tomorrow, as I'm on my own all day with my toddler and baby.

@BunsyGirl Poor you, what a horrible reaction to AZ. Well done on still having the booster.
