I really hate waiting for PCR test results.

DD, DS and I all have a temperature, DD also has a cough. Nasty headaches, body aches and fatigue all round. We all had PCRs at 11am today. I get so agitated waiting for the result and working out what will happen with work and school and everything. Ugh

Hopefully it will be a quick turnaround. DC had one at 10 yesterday and got the results back today. I was expecting a much longer wait as the test centre was jam packed.

Invasionofthegutsnatchers · 08/01/2022 20:37

Thanks. I'm starting a bew full time job on Monday so covid is the last thing I need right now.

Today is day 9 🙄 first pcr wasn't able to be read so I had to do another. Still waiting. 🤦‍♀️

Invasionofthegutsnatchers · 09/01/2022 04:28

I feel exactly the same. DS tested yesterday after developing a temperature, waiting for results now. It’s a horrible wait, I’ve gone over what I will say to school and test and trace in my head already. I don’t know why, we have only been to school and an after school class so don’t know why it is stressing me out so much!
Invasionofthegutsnatchers · 09/01/2022 11:25

Sorry I made a mistake. I don't have a temperature just the children. But still feel pretty rough. Ugh

I'm waiting for my daughter's results too,her PCR was at 14:30 yesterday. The woman at the test centre said to call 119 if the results aren't back after 24 hours - they've never said that when we've been previously.

MrsWhites · 09/01/2022 11:40

@CopperLily they told me 24-48 hours at the moment.

Invasionofthegutsnatchers · 09/01/2022 11:41

I'm so impatient. Might have a nap as feel like shite anyway then will check my email again

I sent a postal test back on Thursday and still don’t have results. I’ve missed my partners 40th birthday celebrations yesterday so will be heartbroken now if it’s negative almost because I could have gone. I don’t even have symptoms anymore

I wonder if the timescale depends on the area?

MrsWhites · 09/01/2022 13:42

Probably @CopperLily. Still nothing here, test was done at 2.30 yesterday. Lateral flow had faint line yesterday but negative today so no closer to knowing!

Robinkitty · 09/01/2022 13:51

Postal tests sent off Thursday and not heard a word.

Have you registered it online?

My Grandma's test was posted Friday PM and she got her result yesterday PM.

LulaLulaloo · 09/01/2022 14:20

It said pre registered on mine. Do I still need to do something?

They won’t chase test results from a test centre until 72 hours have gone by.

96 hours for home tests.

No it's all done automatically now. Or least that's what mine says anyway.
CopperLily · 09/01/2022 14:45

@FajitaBonita I thought it was strange, 24 hours seems to way too early to be chasing test results!

Similar here. Daughter took lateral flow yesterday morning as she was due to take one but had symptoms anyway. There was a fairly strong positive on it. She took another test (no idea why) but there wasn't a sniff of a line on it. This is terrible to say but I'm hoping her PCR will be positive as she's not well enough for school. The last time she was ill, the school bothered me every day to send her back in, despite me telling them that she really wasn't well enough. I can do without another week of that.
Youaremypenguin · 09/01/2022 14:50

Our we're back in 12 hours!! Amazing 😄

MrsWhites · 09/01/2022 14:52

Just over 24 hours for us now. I just hate the waiting!

PolkaDot456 · 09/01/2022 15:03

When I ordered a OCR for myself it said it was registered however when I ordered my 2 children's together I had to register each one, so just be aware multiple tests delivered together may need to be registered still.
