On a LFT after negatives despite symptoms.

I.e
Day 1 Sore throat, headache = negative LFT/PCR
Day 2, 3 and 4 same
Day 5 same symptoms but positive LFT

3 days from first headache and scratchy throat.

Day 6 - I had resigned myself to just having a cold and a massive headache but no.

Sunsetsupernova · 06/01/2022 23:18

Day 1 - sore throat, negative lateral flow
Day 2 - sore throat and a bit achey all over but nothing major, negative lateral flow
Day 3 - no other symptoms, faint positive lateral flow

To be honest after that I didn’t really get any symptoms. Maybe a bit tired but that could also be because it’s the first week back at work and I’d fallen into the habit of an afternoon nap over Christmas!

It was at least 4 days from feeling ropey to actually testing positive, I was doing lft's daily but kept being negative.

4 days. Same for ds2 and dd

Kind of makes a mockery of the original idea of LFTs being meant for asymptomatic people, doesn’t it? Grin

Day 1: runny nose, slight temp, under the weather generally like a cold, neg LFT
Day 2: same symptoms, neg LFT, had PCR (was negative)
Day 3, 4 & 5 same symptoms, was back at work as still negative LFT (this was back in Sept)
Day 6: DH started with same symptoms I had but HIS LFT was positive so our household went for PCR. This time mine came back positive, as did his. We were both double vaccinated at the time, Id only had my second 4 weeks earlier. He’s had his quite a bit before me.

I wondered at the time if it took longer for tests to become positive for people who had symptoms but had recently had their second dose so immune system was perfectly primed.

Very very faint positive when I tested once DH started having symptoms - but none myself at that time. My symptoms started the next morning and a couple of hours later my LFTs were very dark.

Coughing Wednesday and woke up yesterday feeling like I have head cold. Then tested all day yesterday and had negative and then today positive.
Just feel I have bad cold.

I had a morning sore throat on Sunday and Monday which isn't unusual for me sometimes but it was worse on Tues AM. Went with DH to drop-in PCR test centre incase LFTs were wrong (anecdotally I bave heard this happen a lot). DH tested positive in LFT the next day with a slight sore throat, I remained negative and his PCR result positive. I'm still testing negative despite having same symptoms as him and have just done another PCR though muktiple LFTs at different times of day, different brands etc. remain neg.

He is isolating in our converted garage and household is isolating just in case as we were behaving normally on Tuesday evening (cuddling etc.) not expecting anyone to be positive.

I just can't get my head around me feeling worse than him and yet he's positive and I'm neg!!
