I tested positive on an pcr on 29th December, been doing regular lfts all negative completely . Had chest, back pain and nausea. Today I thought my taste had gone but didnt think much of it.. Done my lft to register negative as in Scotland we have new 7 day rule starting tonight and my lft was bright as day.
So was my pcr wrong and I'm only just getting the infection or has my body built it up slowly. I'm so confused now about when to end isolation to be safe towards others as my origanl 10 days is nearly up
Anyone have any idea 😭🙈
Thanks
Lisa

My sense of taste and smell didn't disappear until around day 6/7, so I think that's pretty normal. Surely it's just that you're still testing positive so you'll have to isolate for the full 10 days? I don't really understand why you think your first pcr must have been wrong. Confused

I typed out a reply and lost it.. I apologise if it comes up twice 🙈
I'm just curious as to why all this time I've tested negative on lfts and then today out of no where one appears positive. Does it mean my infection is getting strong enough at this stage in the virus to all of a sudden show on lfts when I'd have assumed it would be getting weaker. It would be different had I tested positive up until now other the my pcr which I had initially got as my whole family came down with it
I'm a bit of a worrier with alot if stress going on just now so I might not be making sense 🙈

The LFTs are not wholly reliable, so I wouldn’t over think it. Neither is every covid case magically over by 10 days.

Just wait until the ten days are up (unless you have a fever or still feel poorly, then I think you may need to still isolate).
