How long did it take for you to test negative of LFT after positive PCR?

I'm on day 2 and feeling almost back to normal. I had a booster a couple of weeks ago which I think has helped.

Family members who I caught it from still have faint positives on LFTs on day 9/10.

Do I have any hope of getting out of isolation on Day 7 or should I be preparing myself for another week. Very frustrating when you have hardly any symptoms.

The only people I know who have been negative on day 6/7 have been the asymptotic ones. A few have got out on day 8 or 9, but most have had to go the full 10 days.

My husband who was practically asymptomatic (just had a mild headache for a day) was still testing positive on day nine. He didn’t bother testing on day 10 as it was Christmas Day as we weren’t going anywhere anyway and on the next day he was free.

So I don’t think lack of symptoms makes you more likely to test negative (in our limited experience anyway.)Hope you get out soon!

I’ve had no symptoms other than achey back night before I tested positive. Day 7 and still showing positive…..so annoying as feel totally fine and have done all the way through.

Day 8, I was quite ill and went downhill after my isolation period ended with a secondary infection.

I had extremely mild symptoms and then got a negative LFT on days six and seven.

Day 8

Day 10

I don't get why they previously said you shouldn't use LFT's for 90 days after testing positive as they can still show up as positive for all this time. Now they say it can be negative within a week?! Goalposts changing constantly.. 🤔

Strong up to day 8.
9 and 10 bit faint then fainter.
Stopped checking now 🙄

My sibling is testing negative now on day 5. Fairly mild symptoms although did feel rubbish for a couple of days initially but feels fine now at day 5.

ItsRainingTacos · 04/01/2022 23:42

I was positive until day 9 - symptoms were a really bad headache on day 1, runny nose from day 2 and chesty cough by day 6.

ItsRainingTacos · 04/01/2022 23:43

@InexperiencedDogOwner it's PCR tests that can show positive for up to 90 days. Not Lateral flow tests.

Lessofallthisunpleasantness · 05/01/2022 01:06

7 days.

School said you were exempt from lft testing and reporting for 90 days after testing positive because it can still show up. Suddenly from yesterday they want everyone to test.
