DH awaiting PCR results - I can still go out, can't I?

DH has just been for a PCR and is awaiting the results. Obviously he’ll now be in until he receives them but can I still go out and about? I feel fine.

I know it might sound like an obvious question but we know very few people who have had Covid and I’m just not sure of the rules these days Blush

Has he had a positive lft?

IsntItIronicDontchaThink · 04/01/2022 15:37

Where (presumably in the UK) are you? Important as interpretations of advice is different. Also what is your vax status?

AdoraBell · 04/01/2022 15:40

Depends where you are, England/Scotland/Wales/NI and why you would be going out, food shop/medication?

blackcurrantjam · 04/01/2022 15:40

If ur double jabbed no symptoms yes

MrsJBaptiste · 04/01/2022 16:07

Sorry, a bit more information might have been useful!

We’re in England
He had a negative LFT on Sunday (we haven’t been able to get any more tests as yet, ordered some for delivery tomorrow - hopefully!)
Felt rough yesterday but loads better today (typical) when he went for the PCR
Both triple jabbed

I want to go to the gym/supermarket/optitions appt tomorrow (but hoping he has the PCR result by then)

Yes, if you are double jabbed with a negative lft and symptom-free

Although it’s allowed, I think it’s a bit off to go to the opticians if you are having one of those examinations where your face is close to the optician’s face.

I agree. As they are a healthcare setting you should stay away as you currently have a household member that is self isolating.

Likewise an nonessential gym session could be postponed until you have more information.

CornishTiger · 04/01/2022 16:43

You are allowed to do what you want at the moment.

However I’d still be limiting what I did

Sparklingbrook · 04/01/2022 16:56

I would cancel the Opticians, give the Gym a miss and try and get a click and collect or delivery of groceries.
