Vaccine and hair loss?

Has anyone experienced hair loss after having their vaccines? Am on a hair loss forum and many women there are noticing hair loss after having their vaccines and boosters. I know that the vaccine has affected many women's menstrual cycles (just from reading Mumsnet) so it makes sense that it can affect hair, if the vaccine somehow disrupts the hormones (unless it affects the menstrual cycle another way).

And no, I'm not an anti vaxxer

Yes mine has gone sooo thin since my vaccines. Know it’s definitely not pinpointed to it but I’ve found no other explanation 😅 xx

Yes. I know I'm fortunate to have very thick, very long hair so no-one would notice apart from me but I did lose an excessive amount after my second vaccine (was quite ill as well).
Also ill following booster but haven't really noticed the hair loss so much.

I lost a massive amount of hair after I had covid. Also missed a period. So I think it’s linked to covid and not just the vaccine.

No but I didn’t have any side effects from the jabs so maybe that makes a difference? Also as far as I know I haven’t had covid.

Yes mine started to go very thin and wouldn't really grow. When I spoke to my hairdresser he said so many of his clients were experiencing the same, one brought in a bag of all the hair she'd lost! For the first few appointments after my second vaccine my hair would not hold colour at all, which again the hairdresser said other clients were experiencing although he hadn't changed methods/colour/shampoo etc. I'm taking biotin now and trying to use treatments to help it grow, I'm seeing some new growth coming through which pleases me.

I found I started losing hair a few weeks after catching covid and apparently it's not that unusual so I guess anything that affects your immune system might make you start losing hair? It's also fairly common during the menopause (no idea why) so there must be a hormone link as well and loads of people have had period changes after having the vaccine.

That's interesting. I tried dying my roots after having the booster and none of the colour took. I assumed I'd not left it on long enough!

Maybe it's something that's just not seen as important. Really affects confidence though and is depressing. Perhaps a lot of women (and men?) are just not making the connection.

Happened to me after covid.

I think my hair loss started after catching covid itself I think. I'm still losing lots. I have long thick hair do its really not noticeable to others thankfully. But yes, still losing a lot and caught covid Jul 2021

I know this post is old but I'd be interested to know if you or anyone on the hair loss forum have noticed any regrowth since?

Huge huge huge amounts of hair loss for me after my jabs but I also had a really horrible experience of my cycle completely stopping and my body having a sort of menopause type reaction after my jabs. Cycle eventually came back so was just temporary but I suspect the low oestrogen levels during that time are what caused the hair shedding. My cycles are not the same since. Hair is still very thin. When I look back on photos pre jab I feel so sad. My hair was thick and long and I looked so much younger. It's like the jab had completely aged me.

And no I'm not an anti vaxxer either. Just being honest with my experience of it.
