How many of you are getting negative LFT but positive PCR with omicron?

Have LFT all 3 of us this morning, dd2 has cold symptoms (sneezing mainly, runny nose), all of us testing negative. Dd1 tells me that the nasal swab LFT are not picking up omicron?

Dd2 booked for PCR this morning as she can not go back to school until she has one due to her having a runny nose.

When we had delta in September my LFT was negative but PCR positive when I had no symptoms but dd1’s was positive with symptoms.

How many of you are getting negative LFT but are then getting a positive PCC with possible omicron?

What’s the chances of dd2 being negative in the PCR and her just having a cold?
@LemonMuffins. Interested to know why you had three pcr tests.

Why not just accept the first one?
I see this said a lot, and it's baffling. My partner woke up I'll on New Year's Eve, we booked a pcr for him for that day but thought we'd do an LFT just in the interim. Negative. Half an hour later he felt worse and did another one on a gut feeling. Positive.

I did two negative LFTs that day, morning and night and another negative the following morning. Did another before bed, with the logic that it's better to know, and it was positive. I had no symptoms and could have cheerfully been out and about all day/the following day if I'd only done one.

Partner is a teacher and we do have a lot of tests, which we have been supplying family with but we are not rationing them.

"Why are you wasting tests" is becoming the new "you shouldn't have bought Easter eggs during a lockdown". Pull yourself together.

I had covid back in July 2021, had been doing LFs, all negative. PCR was positive. Now awaiting PCR results. Been doing LFs daily and all are negative despite many symptoms and feeling unwell. Absolutely convinced its covid. Had to retest as 1st pcr came back inconclusive 🤦‍♀️

DD’s PCR has come back negative so I guess she’s one of the few people that actually has a cold.

I have woken up with cold symptoms, I’m not going for a PCR, will just assume I have what dd has as my LFT have been negative. Luckily I don’t need to go anywhere or be near people so I will just stay home for a few days.

Seeing it a lot around here, people testing negative but cough persists/no taste or smell and they get sent for pcr and it's positive. The more interesting people around our area think it's the government messing with the results so they can control us. Sighs.
