Had covid back at the beginning of August, thought my taste was almost back to normal. Made roast beef for new year and realised I didn't have any english mustard so made some up from powder, according to dh and dd2 it was too strong to eat but I could hardly taste it!

Mind you the worst I had was a sponge cake that dd2 bought that to me tasted like it had been made with cod liver oilConfused

When you mix it with the powder, it takes about 10 mins for the flavour to develop. So if you tasted it at different times this could explain it?

A friend of mine who had Covid lost her sense of taste but she said it came back after about a year. Gradually.

Same time during the meal, had sandwiches today with leftovers+mustard from a jar and couldn't taste it then either

Mine seems to come and go - had Covid March 2020, never actually lost taste or smell whilst symptomatic but had terrible parosmia during summer 2020 - everything smelled like three week old trash!

I seem to have lost all the tastes in the middle again for the last month - if it’s really spicy, salty or sour I can taste it but anything else is just bland.

dd1 had covid at the same time as me, her sense of smell and taste has been much more affected, she's struggling with a lot of foods still
