I'm currently on amoxicillin for a tooth abscess. Started them Christmas Eve and got 10 days worth. Tested positive for covid today. I can't find anything online. I will phone a pharmacist tomorrow but not sure if anyone else had asked this and knew the answer.

TIA.

DD was on antibiotics for tonsillitis and then tested positive for covid 4 days later. I just continued with the antibiotics anyway. She was fine.

Don't see why not. I certainly wouldn't stop taking them until you have called the pharmacist and would be surprised if you were advised to stop.

Most medication you can continue taking, including most antibiotics.

I take a fair bit of daily medication. The only one I had to stop taking for 3 weeks when I had covid was methotrexate.

sometimes covid leads to a chest infection, so yes

CheshireCats · 01/01/2022 18:57

Yes. DH was prescribed antibiotics whilst he had Covid.

Cookerhood · 01/01/2022 18:58

Yes of course. Why wouldn't you be able to? People who get pneumonia as a result of Covid take them.

Thank you, just checking. I have Health Anxiety so question and worry about everything.

Thank you for the reassurance Smile

I developed pneumonia whist I had Covid and was prescribed antibiotics.
