Tested positive today, the line came up before the testing line. I feel like death warmed up. I ache everywhere, can barely walk, I feel sick and thirsty, runny nose snd either freezing yo death or sweating. I have abit of a cough as well.
Iv had both vaccines.

Husband caught covid a few days ago and wasn’t vaccinated, his hasn’t been half as bad.

I’m literally getting no sympathy at all at home lol. It’s making me feel so sad 🥺

Big hug. Get to bed with a good book, paracetamol, zinc, vitamin c and drink plenty of fluids. It'll pass.

Choccymumma · 30/12/2021 17:27

@Slavetolove feel the same, take care of yourself

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 30/12/2021 17:42

I feel your pain, I hope your ok!!
I tested positive on a lateral flow yesterday and I am now waiting on a postal PCR for results.
I started with a scratchy sore throat yesterday then had a night sweat but I wasn't hot.. I was drenched but woke today feeling a little better. This afternoon I've gone down hill.. my neck back and shoulders feel like they have been to the gym and done a session without me!
I'm not sure if it's covid as I always test a faint positive on lateral flows but this one was the darkest one I've ever had. Sending get well soon wishes x

I've attached my test

I have covid and feel so poorly 🥺
Chocolateteabag · 30/12/2021 18:28

Sending you lots of sympathy @Slavetolove - I had it before Christmas and felt rotten for 2-3 days

  • hole up with MN, lots of fluids, cold remedies and sleep as much as you can
  • ignore your family
  • silver lining that you aren't going to be eating rubbish or drinking alcohol for the next few days so you will be starting 2022 on a clean slate

You'll hopefully be feeling a bit better soon

grumpytoddler1 · 30/12/2021 18:34

I've got it too and have felt quite ill. Husband has it and barely has any symptoms. I've had both jabs and the booster so I'm annoyed. I suppose had I not had my jabs I could be in a hospital bed so I should be grateful really.

GlossyCatsMum · 30/12/2021 18:55

My DH had symptoms the same as you, he'd had both vaccines too. I wasn't as bad but felt very drained. I did say to DH I wonder how he would have been if he hadn't have had his vaccines!

stairgates · 30/12/2021 18:57

Take some ibuprofen aswell OP,I found it helped alot for me.

Lindy2 · 30/12/2021 19:06

Take some snacks and plenty of fluids and go and rest OP. I think it's pretty horrible of your DH to not be sympathetic especially if he is feeling ok and is capable of looking after you.

Go to bed and prioritise yourself. I hope you feel better soon.

rc22 · 30/12/2021 19:18

Get into bed and rest up with paracetamol and plenty of fluids.

WreckTangled · 30/12/2021 19:23

I tested positive yesterday morning and this time yesterday I felt just like you. Couldn't stop shaking, pins and needles in my hands which were cold, shooting pains everywhere and the dull headache I'd had for a good few days turned into a migraine. I'll be honest and say I didn't have a great night but today have felt much better. A bit dizzy and some achy joints but otherwise not too bad. Hopefully you'll feel better tomorrow too.

PeachesandCream2020 · 30/12/2021 19:54

I tested positive yesterday, had a scratchy throat and slight cough. Then through the night my skin was burning. Whole body aches, particularly back and shoulder blades. I got up earlier and tried to do some housework and felt like I was going to pass out. Could feel the colour drain from me!

Came to bed with paracetamol and going to sleep soon. Ive had 2 vaccines, no booster.

Hope you feel better soon 💐

Useruseruserusee · 30/12/2021 19:56

I had it just before Christmas (double vaccinated) and felt rotten too. I had brain fog and couldn’t get my words out properly, it was very strange. But the worst was the fatigue - sleep as much as you can, as often as you can.

I’m 2 weeks past positive test now and only just starting to feel like myself again.

Invasionofthegutsnatchers · 30/12/2021 19:58

Get well soon OP. It sounds horrible.

BigotSpigot · 30/12/2021 20:00

Antihistamines can help along with pain meds and drink loads of water. It's miserable (day 16 here and still feeling pretty rough).

the80sweregreat · 30/12/2021 20:08

I had terrible dizziness with covid , nearly fell over once :(
It was awful
The government should update the symptoms for Omnicron really , the big three on most websites is just wrong.
Yes, it's the same as flu or a heavy cold, but also different to other viruses ( if that makes any sense )

Agree. Symptoms in our house:

Ds: mentioned a headaches twice but continued playing as if he was fine, temp 37.8.
Dd: sore throat, fever and vomiting (I know fever is one)
Me: Worst. Headache. Ever. Aches and pains, really bad shivering, numb hands. Temp 37.7.

Ds and I did not feel hot to touch which is what the government say is classed as a high temperature Hmm

greenweepingwillow · 30/12/2021 21:23

look after yourself op. It can be nasty. Rest as much as you can. I am on day 6 now, and finally feeling slightly better. I also got zero sympathy from my family, which made me quite tearful in the midst of it all!
Agree with pp alternate paracetamol and ibuprofen - that helped me a lot.
Although, as a pp said I have not drunk any alcohol this Christmas, and have hardly eaten for the past 4 days so have at least dodged the usual Christmas weight gain this year!!

the80sweregreat · 30/12/2021 22:17

I lost weight , I was even struggling to face plain old tomato soup.
I've put it back on over Christmas though !..
it was the only up side to covid .. the only one.

bringbacksideburns · 30/12/2021 22:23

I was ill too - the rest of the family weren’t too bad. I was bedridden for about two days then got up and felt rough for the rest of the week.

The fatigue has lingered a while but my breathing wasn’t too bad luckily as had both vaccines and have since then had the booster.

You need to rest.

gamerchick · 30/12/2021 22:23

Well if husband is feeling ok, he can run the house alone while you take to your bed. It doesn't sound as if you should be pushing on anyway, I hope you're not.

Slavetolove · 30/12/2021 22:37

Thank you All! Managed to eat abit tonight but I feel awful. My nose is running and my throat is all scratchy which is making me cough so much, Iv been sick a few times from it.

I ache so much. Feel like such a wuss lol

Gaagaa · 30/12/2021 22:42

Hope you feel better soon OP. Meal replacement shakes/smoothies with frozen berries and yoghurt have helped me get some energy when it's been tough to eat
