What happens if your children get sick right after having covid?

DS positive around the 10/12 and Dd the 14/12. Ds was poorly for one day or so, Dd mainly asymptomatic. My and dp had it too mildly.

Anyway obviously both out of isolation now, one of my dc seem to be coughing a bit/sneezing tonight. She does get allergies so that's not unusual for her but seems a little worse than usual, will give her nightly antihistamine and see how she is tomorrow.

I know you aren't meant to pcr test within 90 days unless you have symptoms again.

But it's highly unlikely to be covid so soon right?! We've seen some family over the last couple days and could just be cold - or even her allergies. I have to keep on top of everything that may trigger her allergies but haven't been as thorough over the Christmas break and having covid.

Any suggestions?

DS had confirmed covid in November. Finished isolating and went back to school and back to normal sports etc. Completely recovered. Ten days after he became quite unwell with high temp, fatigue, headache, sore throat, swollen glands.

He then got a sudden rash so needed medical intervention. All the medics said that it definitely wasn't covid and couldn't be because they said they hadn't seen nor heard of anyone catching covid again so soon. So it was a non-covid virus, of which there are multiple ones around...he was worse with the unidentified non covid virus than with covid.

Omicron means quick reinfection is perfectly possible, however am not sure it'd be that quickly! Sometimes people report new covid symptoms appearing a while after isolation ends, maybe this is what is going on here?

It took me a long time to recover completely from covid and part of that seemed to feeling run down and catching every bug going. There’s plenty of other viruses going round.
