Lack of smell driving me batty!! Help

Mners who’ve had COVID i need your reassurance please 😞
I’ve been poorly since 19th Dec …tested positive Xmas day and now testing negative thank goodness.
I feel better in myself now but the lack of taste and smell is really getting me down. I am scared it won’t come back. Since about Xmas eve I also have like this weird, bland taste in my mouth which I wish would fuck off!!!!
Please can I have any positive stories of people having covid and their smell / taste coming back ? I cannot deal with it much longer it’s the worst part 😢

@WinterDeWinter I never realised how awful it could be , I have never been one to worry about catching covid Altho i have taken reasonable precautions . If I knew how vile it is losing your sense of smell I think I'd have been way more scared tbh

I lost my taste and smell 3 days ago, tested positive 7 days ago. It is the most bizarre thing ever! It does get me down a bit as it feels so pointless eating anything, I’ve always enjoyed food and it’s not enjoyable at the moment. Am hoping mine isn’t MIA too long

I am on day (i think) 12 of losing my smell and taste. My taste is a lot better now and I think I occasionally catch a whiff of random things. I have been eating a lot of oranges to help with vitamin c and when I cut into them I can now smell them a bit. Hope yours comes back asap, the average seems to be a couple of weeks although it seems to vary

Just wanted to update in case any posters are reading that have the same thing

I now have about 70% of my smell back and can taste everything perfectly. One or two things I still can't smell whatsoever which is my deodorant spray and my H's aftershave. Weird! I am sure will return though as everything else has
