As if anyone can get hold of LFTs

So the government tell you that if someone in your household tests positive for covid if you're fully vaccinated and asymptomatic you should only do a LFT every day - and that the affected positive person self isolates for seven days and then if two consecutive negative lateral flows over two days they can then complete isolation. The only thing is - no LFTs supplied anywhere - been to five pharmacies and all run out with no knowledge of when to expect more in. Ok - so I think if we get symptoms we will get pcr tests. Only problem is there's no availability for those either apparently 🙄 so how exactly is this supposed to work exactly???

Ordered mine off the government website a few days ago they arrived this morning.

Definitely ask anyone with teenagers. The schools chuck then at them daily, we have several boxes unopened here.

Actually I get all the way to picking my address before it says no delivery slots left. So I'm thinking it's regional? Earlier, I just got the initial page saying there weren't any and couldn't go as far as my address.

They are available now. I tried this morning and there were none. Be quick!

Do you live near any universities? I work at one and the staff at our Mail room are still in (lots of students staying on campus over Christmas). They've got huge boxes full of LFTs for staff and students. A friend of mine (doesn't work there) drove over there yesterday and explained she couldn't get them anywhere and was desperate. They sent her off with 4 packs of LFTs.

@PuppyMonkey it's so frustrating! I was getting a similar message before being asked all the questions earlier on. I can only assume it's where we are that is the issue (England, not remote but awful Royal Mail service, quite often get post only 2-3 times a week anyway)

Yep, I've got the email confirmation.

Ooh ooh order confirmed email has arrived.

I've been trying for days to order LFTs, been checking back several times a day and it always says they're unavailable!

I've literally just ordered some LFTs too and got the code to pick up from my local Pharmacy.

East London/Essex area.

That doesnt mean that they have them when you arrive based on arguments in my local chemist last week

I think that everybody who is on this thread when someone says they are available orders a pack . Then there are none available again 😂.

Well I ordered some online last week and they haven’t turned up. No tracking info either.

I downloaded several codes for several pharmacies but all are out of stock. Not just this week, last week too.

We managed to get a spare box from a friend and have had to eke those out so we can’t all test everyday. Once those are gone we will no longer use LFTs but will PCR if we have symptoms. (Dd tested positive with no symptoms whatsoever so I’m well aware of the limitations of that).

Those who have ordered online - the confirmation email doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll turn up.

I got given some in the supermarket last week and in the town square just before Christmas. I now have 5 boxes.

There's a stall at Birmingham New Street train station, where two girls are positively flinging boxes of 7 LFTs at people.

Ask someone with kids at school/college if they have any spare. We have a cupboard full of them despite regular testing as the kids are constantly being given them. We’ve given some to relatives as they’ve not been able to get any.

I ordered two boxes of LTFs last week, I found early morning (around 6am) seemed to be a good time. I’ve been trying to book a PCR this morning but no luck and then at 1pm appointments did come on line, so managed to get one about 30 miles away.
