Hi
My son tested positive on 19th dec and we are all out of isolation tomorrow
The only symptom he had is congestion in nose and bit of tickle in throat . He also had limited smell but that he said was like colds before and it’s pretty much back now .

He has improved but still pretty congested despite rising nose with saline spray a lot

He tested negative on day 9 and 10 so not concerned he is still infectious . Nose discharge is clear too . No fever

Anyone experience this symptoms still at day 10 and anything to suggest to speed up recovery .

Ellie

I've had covid recently and had congestion, runny nose and sinus pain. By day 9/10 I still had some congestion and sinus pain. I finished isolation and thankfully it cleared up shortly afterwards. The fresh air helped.

Symptoms can linger for a while. As long as you don't have a fever or feel very ill you can leave isolation even with niggly symptoms still!

Thanks he woke today and said his throat sore again so I worrying again now . Maybe it’s more dry . Just expected this to go away once he was negative .

He on day 11 now and was negative day 9 and 10

Still congested .

I feel so stressed over this Covid

I had covid in October & I still have a constantly blocked nose. It’s a bit annoying but hardly anything to get stressed about 🤷🏼‍♀️ You don’t just get magically better on day 10. It took me about 3 weeks to feel ‘normal’ .. I coughed for about 6 weeks. And I still can’t smell anything 3 months later 😫

Your kid has a blocked nose. You can all get on with life. Absolutely no need to worry or stress about anything. Would you worry about something like this normally?! Confused

I have the same issue, I’m on day 9, tests have turned negative but I still have some congestion and a tickle in my throat. It’s not bad I just don’t understand why it’s there if I’m testing negative.

Thanks again for replies . I think I so n edge over all this Covid now it makes you over analyse everything.
If it was a normal cold then no I probably would not be paying much attention to congestion still on day 10
Like last poster I just worrying why if negative still so congested but guess that is not the actual Covid it is body immune system response to the Covid or something like that . His smell is back .
As you say not end of world to have a blocked nose or gunk in throat . Will just check colour of discharge in case it gets infected .

Found this medical.mit.edu/covid-19-updates/2021/03/still-contagious

Not sure if allowed but it’s useful on the symptoms still at day 10 theme

Are you still infectious 20 days later? I'm still showing pos on LFT.

I had Covid first week of December and it was mild. I generally feel fine now (3 weeks after finishing isolation)- but at night I still get blocked up, and I am suffering from an ongoing dry back of throat which appears to be from a bit of post nasal drip- driving me mad to be honest but grateful that there’s nothing more serious at this point
