France, vaccine passports, & teenagers

We’re supposed to be off to France during half-term. Two triple-jabbed adults, one under-12 who had covid in November, and a 12-year-old who had it in October - just before he was due his first jab, which he’ll now have in January.

Until now, as far as understand it, having recently had covid would have been sufficient for a covid pass in France, but the new vaccine passports are coming in during January. I think that this means that only two jabs will now do for entry into lots of places, and that one jab plus recent covid will no longer do. I can’t find confirmation online, and wondered whether anyone was clearer on what the restrictions will be.

All most likely totally academic of course, given that we can actually get in at the moment.

Personally as we’ve had record numbers of Covid, then they might let you in if you are quadruple vaccinated, wearing full PPE whilst juggling six balls singing the national anthem.

Other than that I think your jolly is screwed.

Yes currently no tourist visits allowed.. I would wait and see because all very up in the air. There’s some talk of three jabs for vaccine passport coming, and negative test passports not being a thing anymore. I think January here will see a huge rise in cases and lots more restrictions to come so honestly at this point in time I think it’s unlikely they will allow tourism visits xo

That’s generally my thinking too, unfortunately.

Though recovery from covid will still count for a dose of vaccine in France, that isn't the case in the UK. And not being considered to be fully vaxxed by your home country means that he won't qualify for the fully vaxxed status needed to get a French vaccine pass.

There's time for things to change though.
