Confused. Just received a notification to self isolate on nhs Covid-19 app

So I have just received a notification on the nhs Covid-19 app saying I've been in contact with someone who has tested positive for covid and I need to self isolate for 7 days. I'm so confused as im double Vaxed and also had my booster before Xmas. I thought we didn't need to isolate anymore if we are vaccinated?
Exposure date was Xmas eve, the only place I went was tesco. Been doing lateral flows over Xmas as we had my parents over and all negative including one just down now.
Do I just ignore?

I will also add that I had covid in October as well so presume it would be highly unlikely to be reinfected so soon anyway

Delete the app, everyone else has

Janus · 28/12/2021 16:11

Did it not ask you more questions? Only have to isolate now if not double vaccinated.

Joystir59 · 28/12/2021 16:11

Deleted the app months ago.

dementedpixie · 28/12/2021 16:12

Have you updated the app?
Its supposed to ask your vaccination status so it knows whether or not you need to isolate

3leafclover · 28/12/2021 16:16

I had this (despite being double-vaccinated) and phoned the 119 number. I was told I may have to re-enter my vaccine details - there should be a link on the email you've been sent.

Once I did that I got a new email telling me I didn't have to isolate.

Chocachocaholic · 28/12/2021 16:16

Thanks everyone, i haven't checked my email so will do that and also update the app

It says you don't need to isolate if you are exempt. If you are double jabbed you are. This happened to me last week. It also says to test every day but struggling to get lateral flow tests!!!!

PhilCornwall1 · 28/12/2021 16:17

Is the app still a thing? I thought people binned it months ago.

Karwomannghia · 28/12/2021 16:18

If you read it fully it says unless you are exempt as PP said

Oblomov21 · 28/12/2021 16:24

Delete the app. I've refused to have it now.

Bordois · 28/12/2021 16:25

I dont have the app but they will still text and email you if your details get passed on.

SantaHat · 28/12/2021 16:26

Actually I thought the guidance had changed that if it’s contact with an omicron case, then you still had to isolate even if double vaxxed?

Chocachocaholic · 28/12/2021 16:27

Thank you! Just updated the app and it asked me to confirm vaccination and so now don't need to isolate 🙂

A quick google shows I’m correct…

I'd triple check where the text/email has come from. I got a text advising me of the covid results for someone elses name and DOB. I don't have the covid app, it was just a text. Looked official, but I assumed it was a scam to click on something or they'd put the wrong number in when having their swab.

You’ve missed that those rules were updated and replaced with seven days of lfts for all contacts, omicron or not.

Have you not seen the date on that? That was a November update. It changes very very often.
Looneytune253 · 28/12/2021 16:32

I was pinged on Xmas eve. Done lfts but haven't isolated. After reading this thread I updated it and it hasn't asked me for vacc status so deleted and reloaded and it still didn't ask me but the isolation notice has gone oops

This
PurpleDaisies · 28/12/2021 16:34

I agree with everyone else that you just need to update the app and it will tell you that you don’t need to isolate and to do 7 days of lfts instead.

I don’t get the hate for the app now double vaxxed people don’t have to isolate. Surely it just tells you you might be at higher risk of having caught covid so you can bear that in mind when you’re meeting people.

HolidayMiracle · 28/12/2021 16:39

I had this recently - I needed to both update the app, and delete and reinstall before it was correct. When I reinstalled it it seemed to 'loose' the close contact warning but a few hours later it came up with it and asked if I was vacc'd etc.

Covidfallout2 · 28/12/2021 16:40

I opened the app for first time in ages and apparently my isolation was over on 19th. I had no notification I had been in contact with someone. Looking back at the dates I wasn’t around anyone for 2 days before supposed contact. Wfh and contact tracing off.

I deleted the app as not fit for purpose.

I was in contact with a known case in 20th dec. got the track and trace text today. 7 days after the contact. I had read the ruined and daily tested. If I hadn’t know I could of spread it

Clearly not everyone or op could not have been pinged
PurpleDaisies · 28/12/2021 16:51

That doesn’t necessarily mean T and T were at fault. The person who you were in contact with could easily have been slow in providing your details or had to wait a while for their pcr to come back positive.

My experience of the online form is the people I was in contact with got texts within a few hours of me filling the details in. When I updated the app with my positive test code, dh was alerted immediately he was a contact.
