If you’ve seen +ve LFTs for Delta & Omicron - did you see a difference in speed?

Friends daughters both had covid in Nov/Dec, her other daughter and husband have covid now.
She really noticed a difference in speed of reaction on the LFTs.

My DS2 tested positive on Christmas Eve, I watched his Christmas Day LFT, it was an instant T line as the liquid moved up, so fast.
So I went to video his Boxing Day one but it came up as negative (🤷‍♀️) so I couldn’t catch the speed.

Just wondered if was coincidence or if others had noticed the difference?

My positive LFT last week was extremely quick, the T line came up instantly, before the C line. I don’t have an earlier one to compare it to though.

My DS tested positive on Christmas Day and I couldn't believe the speed of it.

DH had Covid in October and his looked negative for ages before the other line came up.

So my anecdata says you're right!

My t line came up a magnificent red before the c line. It was delta not omicron.

LittleBabyCheeses · 27/12/2021 21:20

I have no idea what variant I had though, no one has told me 🤷🏻‍♀️

BitterTits · 27/12/2021 21:21

Can I ask if these are flowflex tests or the originals?

FindingMeno · 27/12/2021 21:21

I only know mine was delta because it was pre- omicron arriving in the uk

LivingInaBuildingSite · 27/12/2021 21:23

Thanks all.

Flowflex for my friend and I.

Mine was Flowflex.

LivingInaBuildingSite · 27/12/2021 21:24

We don’t know definitely which variant anyone has had to clarify, just assuming older cases were delta and newer ones are omicron.

No idea if it was omicron but we've all had covid very recently so could well be.. Dp's line was almost instant and very strong line - despite that he tested negative on pcr just 36 hours before He was a close contact to someone with covid.

FindingMeno · 27/12/2021 21:27

I had the same instant positive line with old style and flowflex ( it was the first time I'd used flowflex and was so surprised to test positive I tried a trusty old style one in case it was wrong Smile)

In October our positive lfts came up super fast - very dark as soon as the liquid moved up.

kimlo · 28/12/2021 08:13

dd2 had one lf that came up as the liquid went up the test, couldn't miss it. She later the same day had another that was much fainter and took the full time to develop.

Delta and original syle lfs.

I wonder if its to do with viral load? My kids both tested positive a few weeks ago. When they tested neither was positive straight away and they both logged them as negative with the school but after 10 mins they both had faintish lines appear - both confirmed positive with PCR. I was positive a few days later and had a very quick and dark line.
